Jimmy Cullison (Bay Forest) for the tree. For the floor go to lowes and do it yourself.

Does anyone mind giving a ballpark figure of what it cost them to get a tree cut down? I know it varies from company to company and from job to job. I have no clue what people consider "a good deal". Just trying to get some idea of an approximate cost.

Our house is surrounded by woods and we have quite a few dead trees that need to come down. They're really tall and I'd prefer to have them cut down by a professional. We'd just need them cut to the ground, we'd take care of cutting them up and moving them if needed (great for the firepit). I plan to call a few places for estimate in the next couple of weeks. Just curious what to expect.

Just had 4 big trees, precariously located close to the house, cut down by Hamm's Tree Service (240-538-1166 Leonardtown) for $600.

I just had him drop them, I know people who can use the firewood, so I will section it up and clear away the debris myself.

The cost will be more if you want him to clear everything. He did that for my neighbor's three trees for $1,000. My neighbor didn't have the stumps removed though.

I had 8 large oak trees removed, minus stumps, for right about 3k. All of the trees were over 80 ft and 36 inches in diameter and very close to the house.

Thanks, that's the same thing we'd have them do - just drop the trees into the woods and we'd take care of the rest. None of the trees are really close to our house but they are so tall that if they fell toward the house, we'd be hating life. We already lost a few sections of fencing and had the gutter ripped off our shed by two trees that fell during a storm.
