Trick or Treating in Bryans Road

Hi everyone,

This is our first year in this specific area; does anyone know how trick or treating is in the South Hampton neighborhood? That's a pretty specific question, but was hoping someone here has done trick or treating here in the past.

Thanks!

I do not know the area but I'm pretty sure that trick or treating is on Saturday in all of Charles County except for the town of LaPlata.

Can't tell you anything about South Hampton, just make sure you pull up the maryland sex offenders website and keep a list of the 2-3 addresses in the area to stay away from.

Hi, just FYI - from the Citizen Notification Website:

In light of the local state of emergency in Charles County being lifted, the Board of Commissioners encourages citizens to resume trick-or-treating on Halloween-Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Severe weather information and emergency notices will be posted on the Charles County website (Home | www.charlescountymd.gov), on the county's Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/CharlesCounty), and on the county's government cable station, CCGTV, broadcast on Verizon channel 10 and Comcast channel 95.

Register today for Charles County's Citizen Notification Service (CNS) to receive inclement weather and traffic alerts by e-mail or on your cell phone or pager. To sign up for the free CNS service, visit Charles County | Citizen Notification Service

They should have signs outside of their houses.

As per state law, they do. It says 'No candy at this house' or something to that effect.

Do you want to rely on someone who has demonstrated to be a predator in the past to adhere to a sign ordinance ?

Shouldn't be any risk if you go with your kids, still probably a good idea to stay away from those addresses.

OH! I did not see this. I'll let everyone at work know.

It was a joke based on a thread that was started earlier in the month by a registered sex offender.

My reply was serious.

Child violent offenders in MD typically have it in their conditions of probation that they are to post a sign 'No Candy at this residence' at the entrance to their property, can't have halloween decorations and have to keep their doors closed during trick or treating. So, if you see the sign, just move past the house.

South Hampton used to be a good neighborhood, my ex's parents lived there, but went down hill in the past 8 years, its why they moved. Seriously, just keep a close eye out for the little hood rats possibly trying to steal candly from smaller children
