Did anyone see it this morning on 5 north bound just north of Billingsley? Wonder what happened? Looked like a mess, a lot of FD apparartus and LEO on scene. I must of just missed it, not much traffic back up when I got to it.

Im thinking the guy fell alseep, but boy did he wipe out the place, from what I could see he took out all the lawn furniture, both of the covered awnings and the vehicle was so far into the building I couldnt see it. After being on the scene for proably 20 minutes or so EMS finally decided to fly the guy out. I'll know more once I talk to a family member of mine, he was one of the first reponding units on the scene (CCSO). Luckily most of the activity was off the road or there would have been one heck of a traffic backup.

Call came out around 600 or so.

Would this be at the nursery, or the place up around the turn on 5? Or the school building?

Accident was at the place that sells the lawn furniture in front of the pond at Middleton's farm.

I went thru at about 7:00.

On August 30, 2010 at 5:54AM, Squad 2 and Paramedic Ambulance 168 were alerted to Billingsley Road and Leonardtown Road for the auto accident with a vehicle into a building and people trapped. Both units responded at dispatch with 7 personnel. First arriving Chief 12B (Edwards) confirmed a vehicle into a building with one person trapped. Squad 2 was the next arriving, however the driver had self extricated prior to our arrival. The squad crew began patient care and assisted Paramedic Ambulance 399 once they arrived. Paramedic Ambulance 168 cleared to respond to a Priority 1 call in our first due. Squad 2 cleared approximately 25 minutes later.

According to individual's father-in-law, guy dropped his cell phone in the floor of his truck, bent over to try to retrieve it and and lost control of his vehicle.

Dropped cell phone or fell asleep? Maybe he fell asleep searching for his cell? Either way, hope all comes out ok for all involved after that one.
