Looks like the troops gave him a warm welcome. I'm glad he took the time to visit them. They sure seemed to appreciate it.:yay:

Up. Identified. Lase. Fire. On the way.
...and no leaking!! :yahoo:
Yup.

According to reports, many measures were taken to conceal the president's unscheduled trip. The president took off from an undisclosed airport in Florida on Wednesday night around 7 p.m. EST. to travel to Joint Base Andrews. He then boarded Air Force One, which had been removed from its usual tarmac location and housed inside a hangar. Staff accompanying the president had their cellular devices collected before takeoff and the White House scheduled tweets from the president's Twitter account.

Traveling the 8,331 miles to the war zone with the president was Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham, National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien and Wyoming Senator John Barrasso.

No press and no cellphones, gotta love a guy with the balls to not follow the pack.

one protocol thing to note, Air Force One is the call sign when the President Is on board. So he would have left Air Force One to board Air Force One.

Correct, we had the misfortune to take VP Mondale to the 80 Lake Placid USA/USSR hockey game. The flight attendants said he was a total prick, the plane lost pressurization and with that heat. I flew a replacement the next day and brought the broken one back. Call sign of the active bird with the prick on board was Navy 2.

It's not just the visit I like. It's also his supportive words. Well done, Mr. President. Well done.

Let the wailing commence.

I'm not crying happy tears of pride in my country and my President, you are.

Shortly after Nancy appeared she was hot because she couldn’t get accommodations for her and her entire staff to fly between coasts.A C-130 was offered and she was supposedly way less than pleased. Apparently jump seats weren’t up to her standards, someone “forgot” to reconfigure with passenger seating before her arrival.

Not only do you people need a life, you need to get some concept of reality.

None of you see this for what is was?

Trump is in the midst of an impeachment. Career civil servants are testifying against him. His own "hand picked best of the best" people are testifying against him. There is no China deal. There won't be a China deal of any consequence. Iran is moving towards a nuclear weapon and North Korea fired another missile yesterday.

This was a cheap political stunt to deflect the attention of the cult.

None of you watched Trump "speak" to the troops? The man made the most basic of points...and he had to read it from a piece of paper.

Oh and then there's this story from last year to put a finer point on things:

Trump’s reluctance to visit troops in war zones is an aberration, historian says

But you people are all weepy and proud.....unbelievable.

I freely admit, I haven't been sitting in front of the TV this morning (or any morning). I always put on Channel 4 about 615, catch some local while making coffee, the weather, then it flows into The Today Show until I leave for work. Just kinda in the background.

In and out, feeding animals, emptying the dishwasher, checking the internet, getting ready to get out the door.

I haven't caught one mention of this surprise trip from the TV. Nada.

Guess I need to find another morning news to have on in the background. Had I not turned my computer to the good ole' SOMD forums this morning, I'd have never known our president did this for our troops.
