trusty place to get tires mounted and balanced

got my new conti road attack tires in monday. anybody know a good place that i can drop off the rims and tires to get mounted and balanced without getting bent over?

plus it is a locally owned business.


not to mention the last time i used Mr tire they overcharged me AND broke off two of the studs on one wheel. They didn't tell me and i only found out a month or so later becasue i checked the brakes. I had driven about 2000 miles with only 3 lug nuts becasue they hadn't fixed it. When i took it back they acted like they were doing me a favor to fix it.

Check the bike shops in the phone book, then call and ask for prices.
I always thought bringing you own parts to a mechanic was bad manners.

Kind of like bringing cold cuts to a Subway and asking them to make you a sammich

I'd rather give the local businesses my business when I can, even if it's a few cents more. The rapport you develop with a shop is way more valuable.

well i saved about 100$ on the cost of the tires so it wasn't a few cents.

does Mr Tire do motorcycle tires? didn't think most of the auto places would touch motorcycle tires.

Just watch him close or mark on the rim with tape to note wheel travel direction to make sure that he doesn't mount a directional tire backwards (most motrcycle tires are directional)
