We can't get Verizon where we live so we've had DirecTV for years. Tech support is quick and efficient. Price tends to go up a little too often but we rarely lose service even during storms.Which do you prefer Diretv or Verizon do not like all the other stuff out there

We had issues with the old dish but once we upgraded to the newer box and they added another dish, it's been fine. They couldn't take the old dish off our roof because it would damage it. It's on the back side of my husband's "monster" garage so nobody even sees it unless you look out my bedroom window. They must have sold me the "Acme" dish.
Who do you get your broadband internet from?Forget them both. Get YouTube TV if you have broadband internet. We've been MUCH happier than when we had DirecTV, which used to be great but then AT&T screwed it all up.
If you search the forums, there are several threads about TV in the last couple years, with a lot of good advice.

Same reason I gave up on Dish Network, increasing bills, no improvement in tech. I got a good signal, tho, only went out in a really bad t-storm coming from the west. Went to an antenna 20 years ago. There are times, like now in the heat wave, when the signals drift in and out due to changing atmosphere and I really think again about sat tv, but in the fall/winter/spring I get 50 channels. My DSL is way too slow for any streaming services. We have had directtv for damn near 20 years. Everytime we get wind and rain, satellite goes out. The bill is constantly increasing. We are paying $170.00 p/month, no premium movie channels, just the hi-def standard package. We are seriously thinking about going back to antennae for local channels and streaming movies and shows.
Hmmm...our DSL isnt that fast either, but, not as fast as I would like. No nothing about hotspots, may have to look into that.Same reason I gave up on Dish Network, increasing bills, no improvement in tech. However, I am considering getting a new WiFi hot spot and getting rid of the DSL. That would save money and increase my bandwidth to speeds acceptable for streaming.
A mobile hotspot is a device that uses cellular service just like your phone, but is just for the data, and provides a WiFi connection for your laptop, tv, etc....Hmmm...our DSL isnt that fast either, but, not as fast as I would like. No nothing about hotspots, may have to look into that.

Second that for YouTube TV.
