TV Shows that ended too soon

Probably have a million for this list, but I was just thinking about New Amsterdam (not the medical drama, the one where the guy dies and is reborn naked in the Hudson river).

Also Stargate Universe. Come on, that was just getting good as soon as they cancelled it.

Also anything I get remotely interested in on Netflix seems to get cancelled.

Must have a lot to do with competition, that it has to be a BIG seller on Netflix, or it's doomed to one season right off the bat.
So, shows like "Stranger Things" get an almost cult-like following, while other shows get dropped almost immediately.

The Wire. But most of these shows jump the fridge long before they call it quits, so I'm glad that The Wire ended before it started sucking.

That's amazing - without having read your post, I would have easily listed all or most of those, especially Firefly.
Worst thing is I’m sure I could rattle off another 10 or 12 if I really thought about it. It seems like anything really decent these days is destined to die in the cradle.

Yep Sarah Connor Chronicles was another one. Also I never watched black sails but there was one called crossbones with John Malkovich that ended on a cliffhanger.

I didn't watch this show when it originally aired, I suspect if I did I would have really enjoyed it. I tried it 3 or 4 years ago and only watched a half dozen episodes before I gave it a pass. Solid acting, fairly interesting characters (especially Omar), but it just didn't hook me enough to keep watching and I think I may have become prejudiced against 4:3 format shows.

I usually get a feel for what’s going to be canceled. A while back, there was a cool sci-fi show called “Debris “ which I liked but I realized had like zero chemistry between the leads. Syfy channel had two back to back shows -“Dark Matter” and "Killjoys" - the first of which I found was a "couldn't miss" type show - abruptly canceled. The second went on to be even more confusing, but I watched anyway.

Sometimes, it's a show I know will get cancelled and glad it's gone - Bluff City Law, which got too preachy and woke, and the writing was terrible - and "All Rise" which actually got saved by Oprah's network, but my wife and I quit on it after two episodes.

Others are - not so good - but they fall into a genre I like. "The Brave" was one of them, otherwise know as the lesser version of "SEAL Team".
