Well he's not a dog, but a guinea pig, and he's gone absolutely mental and spends every waking hour ripping down his water bottle, so I spend every waking moment hanging it back up. :bawl:

Anyone know what would cause such schizo behavior? It's just started within the past few weeks. I checked to make sure it wasn't blocked and whatnot. He just seems to have acquired a fixation with wrestling with his water bottle.

Sounds bored. Do you give him fresh vegetables, pressed alphalpha cubes, alphalpha hay, salt wheels, mineral wheels, guinea pig chews?

Yeah, he gets lettuce, apples and alphalpha, he won't mess with those salt wheels or guinea pig chews. I wonder if he's pissed now that he has a Chinchilla neighbor? We have their cages right beside each other.

I was gonna suggest cardboard between them but he probably can smell the chinchilla. Probably wants to have lovely relations with it.

 Now that would be interesting. :twitch: Guess I'll separate them and see if he cools his jets.

Have you thought about adding some simple toys? I have two rabbits, and when there bored they trow there water bottle off the cage too. So what I do is add one or two boxes to the cage. They love playing inside of them, and ripping them apart. You can also use paper towl rolls as a toy. These things will keep your guinea pig very busy. Also is he fixed? It could be his hormones. I had my rabbits fixed so they wouldn't fight, and pee on everything, plus I don't want any baby rabbits to take care of. It's the best thing I could have done. I hope this helps you.

You know he still does that thing with his water bottle. I've figured out it's his little game to see how many times he can get me to come over and fix it for him when he rips it down.

Sounds like it's time for some sweet and sour guinea pig at your house. Would probably be a great companion for some BBQ pork.

How big is his cage??

WHen was hte last time you took him for a walk??

Take him outside and let him play in the grass, work out some of his frustrations..
