At the risk of pissing everyone off (and why not it's nearly a new year) I think we ought to take the obscene amount of money that's being spent on the inauguration and donate it to the victims. It would at least put a dent in the suffering going on over there and who in God's name needs nine balls anyway? Or needs to spend $100,000 for dinner with the president? It's absurd, if you have that kind of money to excuse me, waste....put it to good use.

I agree, they should fold the money in half and put it back in their pocket.

What happened is tragic, but regardless of the cleanup effort, the natives will go back to living in the shanties and the resorts will rebuild. In a few years, this will all be forgotten and things will go back just the way they were last Saturday.

Actually most of that money is private, not our tax bucks, so we can't just "take" it.

And that money will pay musicians, caterers, bartenders, cleanup crews, graphic artists, construction people, etc, etc, etc. I'd just as soon it go to create those jobs that the liberals are crying so hard about, and not to some foreign country.
