I'd rather use the machine, if it was a well designed and is a well working machine. I prefer self checkout, when it is done right.

I hate the walmart self checkout and I can never get the bags to open up, my fingers just wont grab the plastic enough to open the bags.

You don't bring your own shopping bag? :nono:

You walk thru the doors of a fast food joint and have the choice of ordering from a kiosk or an otherwise unemployable cashier that isn’t so sharp. Which do you choose, given the opportunity?

A question for you, what percentage of people using that kiosk ahead of you do you think wash their hands after using the bathroom? At least management tells the guy taking the order he has to wash his hands even if doesn't really do it.

OMG I HATE the "please place item in bag" or whatever it says over and over and over. I want to yell STFU.

Really...so no Sheetz or WaWa for you? I like their ordering system..easy and quick and if a mistake is made, it's mine.

Those bags are an issue. The only remaining issue for me really. Now that they have done away with the idiotic "You did not place your item in the bagging are, Danger Will Robinson, Wal-Mart Drone Assistance is Now Required!!!!" part of the system, it works pretty good. I just park the cart and pre-prep the amount of bags I think I"ll need. But to be truly efficient, loading the belt, checking and bagging require two people. You lose that with self check, but gain that throughput back by the fact that I now have 15 or more places I can check out. Instead of the 5-6 open registers which is we used to get.

Actually, instead of either a touchscreen or person, give me an app I can use. I have Macs, but it's even less usable than the touchscreen or people. Starbucks, use that one all the time, Subway, same thing. Apps easy to use, payment available, they get used. Better for them and me. Daughter works our local Starbucks, and she and the other workers love mobile orders. Precise, no babbling about, lets them spend more time making drinks than yakking.

Now it places the lotion in the basket. It places the lotion in the basket. Put the f*cking lotion in the basket.

Free hand? $10 says you can't.

Butt serious, do you know how many STD's are on that thing? The kiosk I mean.

:dead: Well that settles it. I'm never going to use the kiosk again, even if they did do away with the "place item in bag" feature.

Sheetz has really good junk food. Their burger, cheesesteak, and french fries in particular.

They actually are really good. They have an online order feature that I would use before I left work so I could take something home to eat. Once when I got there my order hadn't been filled. Something screwed up, the manager gave me 5 coupons for a free meal combo.

I prefer going to a person. I'm basically a 'people person', I love to interact. Also, I'm not getting paid to work at the place, I'd rather be 'served'.

Besides, first we bi**h about illegals taking the low paying - starter jobs that our teens should have to make some money, and now we want to do away with those jobs altogether and have machines do it. How will our kids ever start out? How will elderly or others have that 'second job' to make ends meet? Yep, I'm going to a person every time over a machine.

Did ya see at the gas station in front of the Wal-mart shopping center, just a quarter mile further south from the Sheetz there, that they sell regular non-ethanol gas? A place called Murphy Express. A regular pump and ever thing, just a bit more pricey though.

I've been a regular customer since they opened. The price of my smokes and diesel are within pennies of Sheetz and they have diesel at every island. I swear they have the best diesel in the area, but they got a bad batch or something about 6 weeks ago that made my Jetta run like ####. I get their ethanol free gas for my boats, tools, and toys. Very reasonably priced.

Well, this survey I planted for my psychiatrist yielded an interesting phenomenon, one can ask the time and eventually it will go in many directions. This will be added to the AMA journal on the American society’s further digressions.

Or something like that. Hey, anybody gots the time?
