One one hand I believe it's best to leave them alone. On the other hand though it's a little condecending to imagine they wouldn't want shoes, medicine, and a feakin' cheeseburger just like anyone else given the opportunity. Why is living in a stick hut in a steamy jungle such a great thing? Bet their lives are pretty short and tough. Eh, either way someone is going to biatch and moan.

I think they probably have a nice life. They don't have to worry about working, paying bills...you know, the whole rat race. They seem to be getting along just fine. I'm sure they're used to their hut in the steamy jungle.

They sure aren't worrying about the price of gas.

Lack of basic medical care makes life pretty miserable. Things that are easily treated like fistula guarantee a life of misery for women. Don't think for a moment these people aren't riddled with any number of parasitic and other diseases. I can understand why people want them to remain "pure" and untouched in their jungle home but I can't romanticize their squalid existence, these are people who die from dental abscesses and broken bones. I don't buy into the noble savage myth but at the same time primitive peoples don't do well when exposed to the modern world either, and these folks still have scabs on their ass where tails used to be.

Who wants too...

Find about 100 Brits from Eastern England & London...

Load them up with 17th century clothing & gear:

And drop them off about 500 yards from these folks.

THEN, we get to see some real anthropology in action.
Keep the arbusques, murtherers, and armor at hand-this will get exciting.

(Don't forget to tell the Brits that we wanth them to make a sizable profit either!)
