Here's some interesting stats:

At a time when Gov. Martin O'Malley and Baltimore City Mayor Sheila Dixon refuse to cut the size of government to trim bloated budgets, the latest figures from the Census Bureau show that the number of government employees residing in Maryland is double that of the national average.

Yeah that is where they get votes from, like Main Man Marion Barry - put every "brother" and his cousin on the City Payroll to buy votes ...........

The stats are a little skewed. Certainly with Washington DC being the main seat of the federal government and with Md partially surrounding DC and being used as a bedroom community of Federal workers it is certain that Md. has many Government employees.

Add to that Andrews Air Force base, Pax River Naval base and Indian head, Havre De, Grace, Ft. Meade. and other federal lands. Yes we have a lot of Government employees.
