Travel System

i remember reading that it's not a good idea to buy car seats used because if it's been in an accident it may have small hairline fractures that are very hard to see but that compromise it's ability to survive a future accident intact.

I don't recall ever seeing a car seat at leprechaun lillies. plenty of strollers but not car seats. could be wrong on that though.

Being a Retired Paramedic, and Grandmother, I would suggest NOT getting a used Travel System. As stated in other posts, it might look good, but there are many things that can be wrong. When it comes to the safety of your Child..it's best to get new, unless you are buying it from someone that you know. Even then, you have to be cautious.

Just FYI, when my daughter and granddaughter were involved in a fatal cullison where the driver was killed on impact, the infant car seat was taken by the manufacturer to use for testing. Originally, the police took the car seat and I had to sign it over to the manufacturer. It was less than 2 months old, I purchased it new when she was born. I had to purchase a new infant seat before my granddaughter was released from the hospital after the accident.

So Lovin', the police followed protocol with my car seat :buddies: :yay: They went above and beyond when they took the whole seat instead of just cutting the straps. BTW, this was in St. Mary's.

You would not believe how many people STILL drive around w/ out their children in car seats. I was in the drive through of Wendys a few weeks ago and there was a car that pulled up w/ a woman in the back seat holding a 9 month (or so) there was no car seat anywhere in the car. I FLIPPED on her... but she was a foriegner and didnt understand me :ohwell:

You flip, I call 911 and report it. That car seat saved my granddaughters life! My youngest is now pushing 80 pounds, and she is still in a car seat. I bought the bigger car seats that are good until 100 lbs. Until she's 100 lbs, she's staying in that car seat. She's now to the age where she see other kids her age not in car seats and says she's too big for a car seat. I just tell her she's not too big and I love her more than their mommies love them!

How old is your youngest?

I am so very blessed
Turned 5 in December. She is 49" tall and 76.5 pounds. I have a little time left on this car seat.
Holy Moley! :shocking:

My Dude is also 5 (in January) and is just shy of 4 ft tall, and about two weeks ago was at 48 pounds. He now wears size 7 pants (slim), but I need to put him into Regulars next shopping trip.

She is by far the tallest one in her pre-k class. I can spot her from across the parking lot when she's with the class. :killingme

Her daddy is like 7 feet tall

Yeah, she's the little green giant.
