That's not unreasonable.

What's not unreasonable? The price of the weapon, or the price of living in an anti-2nd Amendment state like MD?:killingme

I could spend, and very well may, that money for a competition gun like that, along with their competition ammo. And I ain't rich - just comfortable.

It took literally 15 minutes to swap the hardware from the wood to the Archangel. I was astonished how easy it was. 15 minutes and we were out setting up a target to try it out.

I still have to go back and do the machining and mods to replace the iron sights with a scope mount..stuff like that...but when it came to "Zero to chootin' in no time flat" I have to hand it to those folks at Archangel.

And if you look around..the basic chassis with one 5-rd mag can be found for 150 bucks now. The backlog is over.

The price.

As far as I know, you can still get weapons in Maryland. Just not the sexy ones.

I would love to have full second amendment rights but, that's not the case. I only have some. So, I fight for more, and use what I have. :buddies:

"WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — A Utah-based gun manufacturer has turned down a $15 million deal to supply Pakistan with precision rifles, citing concerns they could eventually be used against U.S. troops.

Mike Davis, sales manager at Desert Tech, said the company was on a short list for a contract with Pakistan, but spurned the opportunity because of unrest in Pakistan and ethical concerns.

It was a difficult decision because of the amount of money involved, he said, and the sale of rifles to Pakistan would have been legal.

"We don't know that those guns would've went somewhere bad, but with the unrest we just ended up not feeling right about it," Davis told KTVX-TV.

The company, based in the Salt Lake City suburb of West Valley City, was founded in 2007 on the principle of keeping America and its allies safe, he added.

"As a business owner you always want to be successful, but I think ethically and morally you want to go about it the right way and stick behind your founding principles," Davis told KSL."

Racist bastards.

Hmmm, I'm calling :bs: The way it reads they didn't know originally that the weapons were intended for Pakistan. You would know that immediately due to all of the export compliance requirements that would have to be met right up front. You have to have an export license just to market outside of the U.S.

True. But that's not the one I was referring to. Plus...the ole Mosin-Nagant 91/30 barrel, bolt/receiver and trigger now resides in a nice new Archangel chassis and is ready for some optics, a Harris bipod,.... . :buddies:

I have a gorgeous M39 .... i'd like to lighten the trigger on

my Type 53 Carbine is dead nuts accurate and works very well with an AK style muzzle brake ... although it sucks at the NRA indoor range because the muzzle blast is deflected sideways right at the lane dividers :killingme

so you feel it indoors

I would like to do a 'scout' rifle conversion on it

The redirected blast from the brake on my PSL really gets everyone's attention too....everyone standing to either side of me. :killingme

Guy I shoot with once in awhile has a top dollar customized .223 and his brake, man, I HATE that thing. When he's shooting it, I just go load mags or head to the can anywhere but there. This is outdoors.

I don't get it. .223 is soft to shoot anyway. I mean, yeah, it makes the thing feel like a .22 LR but, why? For the love of all that is holy, why?

Because he CAN!

It gets a lot "better" when its 7.62x54 creating the shock waves instead of that .223 plinking ammo.....

I've seen a few bits on Barrets, .50's, with those enormous brakes, and it seems they obliterate vegetation anywhere within 20 feet of either side.

Want fireballs? Get the "Chode" 4.5" AR upper from Engage Armament (from here in MD) l]

I'm getting old. That's not my idea of fun. Another buddy has a short barreled AR type model escapes me at the moment, and it is simply not any fun to shoot. Then, you pick up the LWRC M6, 16", and I could shoot that thing all freaking day.

And have. :yahoo:

Chris Costos or Travis Haley - have a 'can' that directs the muzzle blast back down range
