Utility Trailers

LPMEDIC

Doin the duty for you....
Does anyone know a good place to purchase a trailer that would be big enough to handle a 4-wheeler? Any recommendations would be great!

The only recommendation I can think of is .. get utility trailer in size of 6'x12' which can haul 3 ATVs

Don't go to Hitch Man. He's way overpriced and his employees are idiots. My BIL went there for a wiring harness for his Chevy, knowing that he just needed a basic $30.00 harness, and they tried their hardest to convince him that he also needed some $70.00 do-dad in addition to the harness. If you want an inexpensive trailer, I like my Harbor Freight 4x8 kit trailer. Only problem is I bent the cheap azz axle back in the early spring, and ended up replacing the axle. Probably bent due to overloading it with dirt while parked on an uneven surface (think the axle was even resting on a rock when I was loading the dirt). If I was to do it again, I'd go to Lowes and buy a trailer from them. If you don't mind driving to Fredericksburg, the Tractor Supply Co. has good trailers for a decent price. You can also get the price on the phone and do some phone shopping between different places. Just make sure you get the deminsions and tailgate styles.

I think Home Depot has them....enclosed ones as well...all varying sizes...
I know that Lowes in California and Waldork both have trailers in their parking lot. Haven't seen them at Home Depot.

Doesn't the place next to Starbucks in front of First Colony sell them? I thought I saw them set up outside that red barnlike building.

you can get one of those foldable ones from harbor freight for about $250, has 12" tires and holds 1000lbs. its 4'x8', all you have to do is add some plywood and its ready to go

Sort of...
You've also got to pay sales tax in MD, register it and get a tag. But before you can do that, yoiu've got to get it inspected - yes even trailers, even new ones. Another $100 or so.

I am so very blessed
I recently bought a utility trailer from Lowe's. I purchased it, took the receipt and other miscellaneous papers up to MVA, and there I paid something like $40 dollars to get it tagged and registered. I did not have to get a separate inspection for the trailer. Once I had the tags and registration in my hands, I then went back to Lowe's and picked up my trailer - I was not permitted to take the trailer off the lot without the tags and registration. All in all, it was a pretty painless process. And the trailer was a lot less expensive than the place that sells trailers right in front of Lowe's (the old unfinished furniture store). Of course, his trailers are more industrial-quality, but for my needs, all I needed was an inexpensive means to transport small items, etc. LLowe's worked for me.

I too got my trailer at Lowes. Shopped around and Lowes had them all beat. To top that off I got a 10% off coupon of EBAY that definetly sealed the deal. Purchased my trailer on a Sunday, on Monday took paperwork over to the Fast DMV place across from KMart. 10 minutes later walked out with Tags and paperwork. Went over to Lowes and hooked that baby up. No inspection here either. Maybe if you buy a trailer out of state then you have to have it inspected in Maryland??

There is a place in Upper Marlboro, MD called Cox Trailers, they are located on Old Marlboro Pike, they are very nice for a good price. Check them out and let us know what you come up with.
