I want that pipe...

Really REALLY good :yum:

I had the Ricco's pasta and would order it again. Pitchers of beer was a nice surprise. None of the rest of us even noticed the vent pipe until Larry pointed it out. The Key Lime pie was better than most restaurants put out, but Megan said they're not going to be serving it anymore.

....fixed!!!! :tantrum: :lmao:

Supper's Ready
We went to Vera's today for the first time. Not only a nice day all around, but what an ideal location, just beautiful.

The food was pretty good to okay. We first had tomatoes/fresh basil and the crab/spinach artichoke dip for appetizers. I had a Kahuna burger (which was very good) and wifey had the crab cake sandwich (we've had better, but it wasn't bad).

A couple of Yuenglings and a glass of wine brought the whole bill to around $58 plus tip.

Oh yes, and we met Bay Kat there at the Beach Bash. Nice meetin' ya, Bay Kat!

Nice meeting you also. Glad you had a good time.

After the beach bash, everyone decided to go up to the bar and it was a mad house, what a crowd, but a fun crowd. I was there from noon to around midnight. Had a great time though.

I know this is an old thread, but rather than start a new one...

I have to tell you how disappointed my wife and I were in our visit to Vera's this weekend. For the past several years we have gone to Vera's...and brought many, many friends along...and bragged about Vera's to a lot of other people. We went for lunch Saturday afternoon and stopped just shy of saying that we won't be back again. Our server (forgot her name) was very slow and inattentive and the place was not even that busy. We waited at least 10 minutes after being seated before she finally came to take our first drink order and tell us she would be our server. Between ordering and receiving our food, I finished my first beer and the empty cup sat on the table with her never asking if I wanted another until she brought our food out.
Our table was not "dirty", but certainly not clean when we sat down, but the condiments were filthy. The ketchup bottle literally stuck to the table and left a big, gooey smudge of something where it had been. Looking around at other empty tables, they were mostly dirty and not being cleaned before other guests were seated. In once case, a group of 4 (1 in a wheel chair) was placed at a table that even the hostess said was gross and she attempted to clean it with a napkin before seating them. Unacceptable....especially when there were two servers who had parked themselves on the couch at the front door and were shooting the breeze with seemingly nothing more to do.
I hope something changes because we really like Vera's, but certainly won't come back if we ever have a similar experience again.

I have no idea why, in these days with so many out of work and competition for dollars so tight that a manager would allow this to happen or even come close to allowing it.

Sorry to hear this!

I also like Vera's as do friends of mine and I'm very surprised by this. Hope it's just an isolated incident and they get things back to normal.

I always ask for Kristin if she's working. There's another gal who's name I can't remember - young, cute, dark hair - and she's really good, too. Other than those two, the waitstaff can be sluggish.

Us too...as we did yesterday, but she no longer works there. Kristin always took great care of us. She remembered what we liked and was always friendly, polite and fun. When we asked why she no longer worked there, the two girls looked at each other like thier hands had just been caught in the cookie jar. They did not answer the question.

Hope it was isolated. We'll go back for another shot because we have had such good service all the other times.
