Thanks, I sent them an email asking for more info. It looks like I could plug the Xbox right into the router

Here's another one..

I also have one of those cards, great on the road. Not sure how it would be for online gaming though. Let me know the outcome..

I dunno! I heard several people complain about the DirectTv signal when it rains. Are you located in an extremely rural area?

It's so rural...

It's so rural that "rush hour" is 0800-0900 Sunday mornings when all the neighbors hitch up their buggies and head to Prayer Meeting.

Seriously, we are in the Loveville area not serviced by DSL or Cable.

I have the profesional or whatever its called set up in my house. No cable to the area. I have a static IP that comes included with the pro version.
Down loads speed is ussually around 800 or so kpbs which is fine. Upload is still only around 150kpbs. It is expensive to install and pretty high monthly. My wife and son use it for online courses. It's nice not to have to disconnect when calls come in and we did need something faster than the 28-33 kbps we were getting through dial up. It went out last night in the snow and i did not check it this morning.
I have wireless set up and frequently have three users running at once.
I'd like to have cable but no luck there.

well just got off the phone with microsoft and they do not recommend any type of wireless connection :bawl: :bawl: :bawl: I am on hold now.... I asked them a question that stumped the guy. Anyone else out there have a 360 with wireless controllers? I can't figure out where to see the battery level and the guy at mircrosoft has no clue

I have DWAY professional w/static ip and let me tell you save your money.......If it wasn't for work requiring me to have it I would have trashed it long ago.......Its very unstable, terrible throughput, the worse tech support you will ever find, very costly and terrible uploads.(5-20kbps) Now it will "appear" your getting good download speeds with results being 800-1400kbps but that is so misleading because the latency is so bad 700-1200ms that at times its as bad as dialup. If I were you I would go with the wireless service from Verizon. Just think with in the next few years Verizon FIOS will be available to all and these horrible companies that say they offer Broadband will be bankrupt and we'll all be happy!

Here is a copy of the reply I got from the EVDO company, I guess I am going to wait until someone else tries it on the XBOX first

For starters, rest assured - we will match any price you find. *But we will never beat a price since we offer the highest support and value*.
Have you used EVDO and XBox Together YET? While what you want CAN BE DONE... depending on the nature of your games, EVDO's LATENCY m-a-y pose some problems for you. It commonly specs out at 180-380ms delay.

That Said, In General, while we are Verizon and Sprint Authorized Agents, we can increase the EVDO Coverage Area and Speed that Verizon or Sprint Offers for you.

This is how its done,
Start with Our Top Of the line SuperCharged! EVDO V650 with Verizon Service. It is $349. It's guaranteed to work at 2000kbps+. With its optimized antenna design and radio system structure, you will get another 3-4 miles FARTHER EVDO Reach than the 5220 - and strong building penetration.
http://evdo-coverage.blogspot.com/2005/04/kyocera-v650-vs-novatel-v620-vs.html

If you'd prefer the lowest Price, we offer the same V620 without SuperCharged! EVDO at $149.

Then, for the greatest coverage area boost and signal strength, Our EVDO Lightning Rod delivers 4-5 ADDITIONAL coverage MILES / double building penetration for $189. So, Even when you are within the published EVDO Areas.... 1 bar is boosted to 2-3 bars so you get faster EVDO.
http://evdo-coverage.blogspot.com/2005/06/evdo-lightning-rod-jolts-v620-v650-and.html

To get another 400%-600% more EVDO range and penetration, Just add an EVDO Coverage Power AMP. It runs $585 and has both Vehicle and Office Mounts.http://flickr.com/photos /53015775@N00/11485790/in/set -282569/

Now, to Share EVDO with over 25 users over WIFI, The EVDO Router is Industrial MIS Grade at $988. It comes with port forwarding, nat table, radius server compatibility, 10 unique loggings, session tracking, etc. you'll find screen captures at http://hacks.wirelessinternetcoverage.com - under the hardware section. And we just put up a special bundle price package up at http://evdo-coverage.com/evdo-v650-lightning-rod-router.html

You have a 15 day money back So Feel free to try it out for 15 days at https://evdo.sslpowered.com/kpc650-lightning-rod-bundle.htm

Let me know if you need anything else... I am here all day thx!... bob

Yes I would rather have the Verizon service but when I contacted them about it I was told no service down here (St. Mary's County). Does anyone down here have it?

If you are talking Verizon DSL.. I do know somebody that has it WAAAY south in St Mary's County.. RIDGE even. Who'd-a-thunk eh?

I only know this because they ran into an installation problem (their CD drive was tits-up) I went by and fixed it, and finished the install for them. so yes, I can verify that it is here, and it does work.

You know that the Central Office (CO) is located off of route 5 in ridge. It is located where the red and white tower is with the little white building in the front. The front door says verizon.

I think there is confusion in this thread with respect to wireless. The original thread is referring to Verizon Wireless EVDO service. This service uses cell tower along with a PCMCIA laptop card to provide high speed internet. I know the EVDO works in Wildewood, Hollywood and Ridge and I'm sure the Park.

Duke Where do you live? If Im passing thru Ill test it out for ya..

What card do you have? Is it EVDO (Broadband) capable?
