Verizon wireless internet problems?

Exact same problem, started about 2 months ago. Spent hours on the phone w the time consuming tech specialist reading out of a book. After a few days they said the problem was on their end, it worked ok for about a week then it started again. Yes resetting the router does work for few hours or less. Called them again this week and now they want to send a techician out. Already changed out the router, I have the filters in the phone jacks in place. I say the problem is on their end. Calling today for the tech to come out, my guess is going to be he won't figure it out.

hey I was wondering if Verizon is doing something with the lines and what not.. I asked because our net problems seem to be worse a few nights ago and last night it crashed and wouldn't reconnect.. On top of that our phone has tis habit of doing dead..

Yes. If you get a technician out they will tell you they are doing work. Big secret though, so...shhhhhhhhh.

The last three days have been sketchy here. I know from past experience there is really nothing a tech can do, other than tell you it's not your computer and it's the crappy old lines trying to run too much to too many.

Hey I was wondering if anyone else was having problems with Verizon wireless internet. In most cases it will stay on through the night but doing the day it keeps getting kick off and we need to reset the router like 50 times just to do something like check email or look at a map. We think it has something to do with the collage's wifi but I wanted to ask it's it just us or anyone else having this problem with routers dropping the signal

Never had a tech come out but it seemed to have gotten better, but still I find the internet off on the DSL box from time to time and have to reset it. Except a few months ago a long time before that I never had this problem. Verizon claimed they fixed it saying it was on there end but it is still happening :cds: Might be switching, had them for years anyway, probably time for a change.

I have FIOS and only occasionally have a bad/slow signal where I need to reboot my router. This only happens once in a blue moon though (knock on wood) and is usually associated with a larger outage. Other than that, my Verizon service is great!

Say I am still having problems with the net going dead and now our phone is acting up. It would just go dead and would have a "Check Tel Line message on the caller id..

I'm in the same general area as you and the only time I have ever had a problem with my connection was when a fuse link went out in my ouitside junction box and took out the entire phone line for the house. Most of the time if the phone goes out the DSL link still stays on since it only requires one wire.

Oh yeah, problems for about the past 2 months. Kept kicking me off and I had to keep resetting the modem. Called Verizon out-sourced HELP line. Was told it must be my modem. Modem was kind of old, so bought a new Netgear router/modem. After hook-up, couldn't get internet signal although green lights said I was connected to Verizon ISP. WTF? So I called the out-source people again and was told Verizon network didn't support the Netgear modem I bought. WTF, again? So, I shut down the entire system, went to bed, and the next morning after I fired everything back up, I now have full WI-FI. Then I got a call from the out-source folks who said, "Hey, you have a major problem in your DSL line and we need to send a tech to check it out." I say, no, I now have connectivity and everything is hunky-dory and I don't need a tech. She insisted and I said, fine, send the tech on Saturday between 12-4PM. 5PM Saturday, no tech shows so I call the out-source folks and say, "WTF", your tech didn't show". I was told the tech couldn't get access to the line cause no one was home. BS, I tell the young lad, we have been home all day, no one showed, no one called. She tells me the ticket is closed. I say, that is good, because I told the out-source lady in my second call that I didn't need any one to come out. So, wouldn't you know; Verizon called yesterday saying the tech couldn't access the line and we needed to setup another appointment. WTF? Can't wait until the tech shows up tomorrow when no one is at home and really can't get access to our line which is working just fine, now.
