I ordered and got the g/f one in two days, last week. And the store by me still had some in stock last night. I was there transferring contacts and pictures to the new phone.

I just checked at our local VZW store and they have none. Best Buy was out also. I might just go ahead and order it online. At least that'll get me a spot on the waiting list, however long or short it may be.

Check the Verizon koisk in BJ's (California, MD). they are also a corporate store and many people overlook them when looking for the hot ticket items. I found 2 Incredible's for my wife and I there on launch day. No one had even come looking for one from them.

Also, Google Earth is now available for the Incredible in the Android Market.

I checked there this past Saturday. No dice but thanks for mentioning it. Most folks do forget that it's there.

After seeing mine, Mom went into the store and ordered her's I believe either Saturday or Sunday and it came in today. When I ordered mine last week, the sales rep said it was faster to order from the store than from online. Of course she may have just been saying that and I don't know anyone who has ordered it from the website instead to compare to. I do know that both of us received our phones in the mail 3 days after ordering it at the store.

My SO has an Incredible and I am having a problem with it. I have a Moto Droid and received the new Google maps Navigation Beta program for the voiced turn-by-turn directions. I went to see if my SO had it on her Incredible and it was nowhere to be found! She has Google maps but NO little blue NAVIGATION widget like on my Droid.

Any ideas??????

I read about that happening on the Android forums. Reboot the phone.

Here's link to the User Guide...

On page 185, it shows the Navigator screen and how to get to it. Maybe this will get you in the right direction.

Reboot worked! :yahoo:

I wonder why I had to reboot to get the app "fully installed".....

Just a thought regarding the proposed problems with the HTC Incredible getting stuck at 2.1 when other phones progress to 2.2 or 2.3. I noticed that on the Incredible the PHONE itself has a large capacity (8GB I think..) as compared to the Moto Droid that only had a small amount ON THE PHONE and a 16GB SD card. Maybe this is a factor in the whole "placing and running apps from the SD card" issue. The Incredible has A LOT more memory on board the phone so maybe it does not need to worry about using up "PHONE" memory with apps like the Moto Droid does....

Just a thought.....

The delays with HTCs not getting updates is centered around the SenseUI not the amount of memory. Everytime an Android OS update is released, HTC then has to reintegrate the SenseUI into the new Android OS and it seems like it has to be redone for each different HTC phone. The HTC Eris has been on Android 1.6 since last fall and is just now starting to get the 2.1 update. I hope HTC will get better about getting updates pushed because I ordered an Incredible last week. Now, if it would ever actually arrive. They're becoing like the Wii, none to be found. At least I have my spot in line. The VZW folks said it should ship around June 1st.

This is crazy. Well, I'll just wait for my Inc to arrive. Hey, if the shadow comes out within my 30 return period, I might still have options.

True. However, details are a bit sketchy right now. Some of what I've seen says that it has a slide-out keyboard and some say that it doesn't. But they all say 4.1" screen and an 8MP camera. I'm hoping for non-keyboard. I've seen many people say that a keyboard was a must-have when they bought it, but then found that they didn't need it after they got it. Might know more today along with info on Android 2.2 (Froyo).

...and I'm still going to wait for buy-one-get-one-free.

Ok, looks like the Motorola Shadow (non-keyboard) is supposed to be out in June and the Motorola Droid 2 (with keyboard) is supposed to be out in July. They are supposed to have similar specs. :yay:

So far, every Moto Droid owner I've talked to have basically said the same thing, that they hardly ever use the keyboard. I tried the keyboard a few times and it felt awkerd. I think because the keys are off center with that control thingy on the right.

I will have to agree. I got mine with the keyboard, after having so many problems with the Dare.

But now I hardly ever use it, unless I am sending a bunch of texts at once.

Well, I've had my HTC Inc for about two weeks now and I'm very pleased with it so far. I was afraid it would be a let down after all the hype about it but it seems to be living up to its rep. I'm still getting used to all the touch screen methods (touch, press, swipe, etc). The finding the touch keyboard easy to use especially since it detects all of my mis-types. I was able to get Google apps (GMail) to handle all of the syncing of my email, calendar, and contacts using my own domain name. Then Google Apps syncs with Outlook. I'm still learning this thing. Lots of apps available for download.
