Re: Vets and losing horses, etc.
If you ever hear anything about the old gentleman (Leo), let me know. As for the palomino pony, he was gorgeous but gawd it was a matter of not wanting broken bones; we were really scared to touch him. Besides running Buddy the farrier off, he ran Leo and the pony all the time. Yeah, Leo's eyes were bad. Guyther said he was fine, she said he was fine; she looked at him when I got him because they looked funny, and he tripped. I like her as a person-sweet as can be with our cats and stuff, but wouldn't take horses to her... Dr. Miller told me he had some sight left in both eyes, but said he wouldn't get any better. I got him from people over near Bull Road and everytime I see them I feel like an idiot; they knew what was up, and I was new and stupid. I paid $1400 for him; glad to see he got a good home, but now that we lost the pony, as I said, wished I'd have kept him despite his sight. What a great guy...Sorry about your daughter's horse. Was she an appy-type? I'd seen one in the pasture when I go by there. 34 years is OLD...I'm glad she spent the last few with you, you take better care of your animals than some people do their kids and you made me think twice about the "horse hay" we were buying, moldy in the middle, because you said you didn't like the look of it. With the minis we buy the bales for $4.85 each but they only go thru so little so it's not a big deal.
