I love Leonardtown. It's a great small town and the town administrators have done a terrific job turning it into a real community and destination.
Some of us miss the Leonardtown of the late 70s and early 80s before it was turned into a "destination". Drive-thru mixed drinks in a "to go" cup or an 8 pack of ponies for the ride home were an especially nice bonus.

Yup, go down the alley behind Dukes. Pullup to the drive thru window, "2 Pina Colladas, doble shot please". Less than 5 minutes, drink in hand and drive away. Good old days

Back when Duke's was a "safe" place for us 7D boys to buy a drink. We generally shied away from Penny's... 'course back then, we had so many bars in 7D, including the ones we could get to by boat, that there wasn't much reason to travel such long distances like to Dukes'.. ;-p And mixed drinks at the drive-thru were readily available at Capt. Sams.

A friend was a little disappointed. After the parade, he waited for the ceremony to commence. And waited. And waited. No announcement was made before or after about what time it was supposed to be. He finally left.

Liked the marching, the HS bands, and especially the ROTC units (GMHS unit with the motivation check was AWESOME!)
Too many car club vehicles though. Do we really need several groups of Jeeps??
