Man I need to start taking in healthier dogs. I just took my boxer to the docs to have his hind area looked at because he kept on biting at it. Well I'm $330.00 poorer now and have to give him three types of pills twice a day, spray his azz with a topical spray and an ointment for his eyes. doc says Gordo is probably going to need a small operation on his eyelid cause its scratching at his eyeball causing him to tear a lot.

next time I get the urge to save another animal, someone please stop me.

What?!
I've adopted 2 wonderful dogs and they are as healthy as can be! Well, Precious has a little bit of arthritis in one her front paws. I've been giving her glucosamine and she is as good as new.

Dogs are still cheaper than wives and at least you know your dog is going to kiss you every night when you get home from work.

Sorry and nothing to brag about, but when my boxer got hit out front of the house (both front legs run over) by some arsehole doing 35 in my court.
6K later, she is 99% back to normal. Pup Pups are worth it. I luvs her. :huggy:
You can see her front legs are still scared

That's great she's almost fully recovered. :huggy: Pups and kitties are definitely worth it. Unconditional love and lots of it. I just dropped over $250 on my one cat last week. :faint:

OMG that's my worst nightmare!

Boy went down to the stream on the ATV to retrieve my pups (a rottiebaby and Ugger-Pug) and said he saw the BIGGEST d@mn copperhead he's ever seen on a log right next to them!! I asked him why he didn't pull out his machete and make weenie copperheads outta them :burning: so he raced back down and tried to find it, and couldn't.

There was a fellow on the washington news last week who just got out of the hospital after 3 weeks and skin grafts from a copper head bite in his own shed, I HATE them!!

What happened to the dogs!!??

We discovered them not long after the attack and I immediately gave them Benadryl. We had to drive them to the emergency vet in Waldorf since it was about midnight when it happened.

THANKFULLY they responded well to the antibiotic treatment. The anti-venom treatment is the price of a small car for 2 dogs! I used my medical background in humans to take care of them and with in 2 days the swelling had completely gone down and they were completely back to normal. :yay:

The older bigger dog got the worse of the bites and her snout swelled up fast to about 4 or 5 times it's normal size! The younger smaller one got just a large walnut size swelling on her nose so she obviously was bit 2nd. We're actually thankful it happened that way because if it had been reversed the smaller dog probably wouldn't have made it.

The snake was killed that night and boy was it aggressive! BUT Bassetts are also nosey dogs so he was just doing what comes naturally.
