Since this incident happened on the St Mary side, and was filmed by folks heading towards Calvert, he had his lights an sirens coming over the bridge, and then turned them off after the impact.
I think the ambulance was heading back to Calvert and the person filming was just about to get off the bridge in St. Mary's.
Lights and siren while he was in the oncoming lane to bypass the slow 4 o'clock traffic.

Correct. There wasn't much traffic to bypass though... It was a bizzare situation.

Someone posted in the comments that they were probably on a food run in St. Mary's and didn't want the food to get cold on the way back. Probably true :lmao:

Which would only make sense if he was responding to a call back in Calvert. Even then, he is not supposed to use lights on the bridge as the vehicles in front of him have nowhere to go.

Think you're a little off on this. The ambulance was at base of bridge in St. Marys, headed toward Calvert.

Yikes.

I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt for the 2006 crash. Young men in cars have done dumb sheit since cars have been invented. However, the driving displayed in the Solomon's bridge video suggests that 18 months in county lockup (of which he probably served 3) was not enough to leave a lasting impression.
Got to wonder how none of the chiefs or officers noticed his driving and failed to act. This is never the first time.
