Could be this, better go see a doctor
Viral meningitis is relatively common and far less serious than bacterial meningitis. It often remains undiagnosed because its symptoms are similar to those of the common flu. The frequency of viral meningitis increases slightly in the summer and fall months because people are more often exposed to common viral agents during those seasons. Most cases of viral meningitis are associated with enteroviruses - viruses that typically cause stomach "flu." However, many other types of viruses, such as the herpes virus, can also cause meningitis. The mumps virus was once a common cause of viral meningitis, but it is now rare due to the routine use of the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine.
The first symptoms of meningitis may surface several days after a person has had a cold and runny nose, diarrhea and vomiting, or other signs of a bacterial or viral infection. Some of the more common symptoms of meningitis include fever, lethargy (decreased consciousness), or irritability. Peolpe may complain of a headache, photophobia (eye sensitivity to light), and a stiff neck, which is often noted by the doctor during a physical exam.

I didn't have the sore throat, but the rest fits. Very nasty. Everything's gone but a bit of the cough. Hope you feel better. :huggy:

I've been living with Nyquil hangovers - right into the Dayquil...

The cough SUCKS!

Plus, my head hurts - just enough to NAG me! :bawl:

Hopefully, it'll be gone soon. Until then, Lysol spray is my friend!

I'm calling the doctor. My neck has been really sore and stiff since last week. Also had a tick bite this summer - no rash, but you don't always get that. Could be later stages of Lymes Disease???? I NEVER go to the dr. unless I am on my deathbed. Worse, I have a slight fever and our a/c quit working....Should've just gone to work where I'd be nice and cool.

it's probably just a viral thing- I had a stiff neck for a few weeks and slight fever a while back-but so did some others at work-so it was going around...I wouldn't worry.

My neck was a bit stiff when the crap first hit plus I ran a low fever. If you're concerned about it being something else, by all means go and see the doctor. Better safe than sorry.

BTW - I've had meningitis and came close to dying from it. It's nothing to fool around with, believe me. What I just got over didn't come close to how bad I felt then.

Now that I've made the appointment, I'm beginning to feel a lot better than I have. Go figure. I probably have what you just had. How long did yours last?

I started coming down with it the Sunday before Labor Day. Labor Day I was miserable with sneezing, watery eyes, and lots of sinus congestion. I called in sick to work the next day because I was still running a slight fever, my nose was completely clogged, and I generally felt like crap. I was well enough to go to work that Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday, I was feeling pretty good except for the cough. Other than that still lingering a bit, I've felt fine.

I'm glad you are better. I haven't had the clogged nose, sneezing or congestion, but have a cough. We were in the Outer Banks last week on the beach in a lot of wind and that's when the coughing non-stop started and a bit of a runny nose. Could be something from that, but the neck thing was bad from the start of last week.

I'll post when I get back from the dr. I'm always afraid they'll say, well, you have lung cancer. I have got to stop smoking.

Looks like we got out of Outer Banks right in time.

So happy!
