Road & Track had a comparison with a C30 and a Mini. Said the turbo 5 cyl kicked azz, but the mpg's sucked compared to the Mini.
More interior room and the interior looked better on the C30. I like the looks, always been a fan of hatchbacks.

that's kind of odd they would do a comparison on the two. i guess the only thing they have similar with each other is price???? the cooper is way smaller than the C30... at least in the parking lot it looks smaller
