I have been to the Edgewater store, and it is very nice, employees are professional, helpful and NOT ghetto.

She never said a thank you or anything. I left. What a ghetto biatch. Now let me pull the race card,,,,she was black, I am white, so I think thats why she was so nasty to me. I did call and report home girl to the Walgreens management, and am waiting for the store manager (Shannon) to call me back. I cannot believe they could have such an unprofessional low class woman like that as an asst/mgr. That really makes the store look like #$%%!!! I have gone to the edgewater Walgreens, and it is so nice, people are very helpful and friendly. Now I know why I left Waldorf!!

Be thankful you left Waldorf. It just gets worse and worse. I won't be surprised in the next 10 years if the whole area is ghetto because it is certainly on it's way to becoming that way.

Yes, St. Charles is ghetto, but there are lots of nice places in Waldorf. Just because most of the people are black doesn't mean they're bad people or that Waldorf is a bad area. :duh: St. Charles is, because all of the street gangs and drug dealers have congregated around the dumpy areas of Lancaster and Bannister. :duh:

I've got no beef with Waldorf, I've just heard that it's a scary evil place where people will rob ya just because they can, shoot you because you've got a flat tire, and take your children for BBQing.

The mall sucks (but that's coming from someone used to shopping at the Mall of America), the traffic sucks... but they've got some great restaurants and they've got a Sam's Club, so that membership I bought in MN didn't totally go to waste.

Since we moved to somd, I've read thread after thread bashing Waldorf. I go to there often to shop and I've even been brave enough :)sarcasm:) to go there at night to eat. I'll admit, I do see more gangster thugs walking around there than I do here in Calvert but it's not as though I've ever feared for my life in Waldorf.

I grew up in NY and maybe that's why I don't think Waldorf's that bad. Can you clarify for me, where St Charles, Lancaster & Bannister are? Hubby just changed jobs and started working in Waldorf - we're happy that he's now working in an area that doesn't have bullet holes in the windows but maybe we were wrong about that? Do most of the area businesses have bullet proof glass there also? :lmao:

People act like Waldorf is a total ghetto. To be honest, Great Mills scares me more than Waldorf.

No, not yet. Don't :lmao: about that because but it probably won't be long. It's actually quite sad. I used to work in SW but would have to go through SE DC and if you go into any of the fast food marts/service stations, Cash only and they all have bullet proof glass windows.

St. Charles, Lancaster and Bannister are located to the left, heading North on Rt 5 at Mattawoman Beantown Road. Turn left there on St. Charles Parkway.

In comparison to what Waldorf was in the early 80's,(considered country) it's gone straight downhill. Waldorf has more now, more shopping, more restaurants, more houses, more people but there is a price to pay for those things (considering who are neighbors are). With all of it comes more drugs, more crime, etc. etc. Unfortunate but true.

Many people who lived in Waldorf are leaving, putting their houses up for sale and getting out. Not sure why but only to assume it's the area and the people moving into the area.

its actually annoying to hear people call waldorf ghetto. I too am from NY and 1/2 the people complaining about waldorf being ghetto don't even know what the hell ghetto means.

I'm fully aware of this walgreens and that whole shopping area, i live 5 minutes from there. I've been living in waldorf for 6 years now and IM NOT MOVING. I love it here. They are building more houses, more apartments, more restaurants, more stores, what more could u ask for? except more ROADS for the traffic. :lmao:

If you can't handle waldorf or can't stand it, please stop cloggin our traffic on route 5 north coming from st. marys/calvert county all the way up till leonardtown road to the best buy just to go shopping. :coffee:
