Walmart Gas

I was told that they get the meds from other countries for cheap. Not sure it is true. However, i know the drug companies have the meds patented for 7 years after that they become over the counter. India, take the meds breaks the chemical components and makes the meds for way way cheap. I get my meds from Canada and the pills here in the US cost me 90 for 3 months. The same meds from Canada cost me $50.

Not over the counter, but other companies can make generic versions.

Ok so heres what Im thinking. If Walmart can take a 100.00 perscription at CVS and make it 4.00, how come they cant take 4.00 gas and get it for like a 1.00? How is it they get meds for cheap and why cant they do the same for gas.

The most of the stuff on their $4 list is not that expensive. Trust me-when I worked for CVS back in the day employees got meds "at cost" if they did not have other coverage. They are selling those meds close to cost or at a small loss. I am sure Wal-Mart's buying power allows them bigger discounts from wholesalers. Besides, as I used to tell folks who used Wal-Mart as an example when complaining about CVS prices - "How much do you spend on other stuff when you get an RX here vs Wal-Mart?" So in the long run, small chain drug stores still save people money LOL. :killingme

:yay: Target has the same deals, and much better service. We do a combination of methods, like Target, mail order, and finding OTC alternatives (Walitin for Claritin, generic Zantac instead of Nexium.)

We have decent prescription coverage, but it's still a lot of $$$. I don't know how people without coverage can afford to stay alive.

Couple of their pharmacists are my fellow escapees from CVS hell. :killingme
The only reason I stopped getting meds there is not wanting to drive over the bridge every time I needed something filled (gas prices have me :nomoney:).

Walgreens has a $12.99 for 3 months plan for certain generics too (the lists there and Target, Wal-mart are pretty much identical). I think Safeway is hoping on the bandwagon soon.
