Wanda Sykes on Fox

I think Wanda sykes is funny. I treat everything she says as a joke,...and that works well for me. I hate the PC junk..so it is unfair of me to get on her for silly things she says..I can only hope that white comics could get the same pass that she seems to..but I cant make that so by hating on her..Chris rock, carlos mencia, kat williams...they are all very funny..I hope a white guy grows some balls soon..and joins their ranks. I'd like to think they would all be ok with it..

Good Grief

Who is this Wanda Sykes person, and why should I care?

Wanda Sykes has been around for quite a while in mainstream. She can be seen on the show "New Adventures of Old Christine" where she plays Julia Louie-Dreyfus' best friend. She has done countless comedy shows and is pretty darn popular for her humor. And yes, she did play in Monster-in-Law.

Not everyone likes the same kind of humor. Let's stop the judgemental BS. Opinions are like _ssholes...everyone has one and they all stink.

I'm also quite sure no one in here has ever said or done anything questionable.

I find her to be a lot like George Carlin in that she can be really really funny, but when they start into politics, then they become preachy, cantankerous and ascerbic - but mostly unfunny.

I liked her in the Drew Carey show.

I wonder why nobody has realized any of this before.

Seems odd....
can anyone guess what they are thinking by bringing on a seriously racist, pro obama black woman to their lineup???

No guess why she took the spot, nobody else will have her.

Hmmm, , just cant put my finger on a possible reason for FOX to do something like this,

Sponsored by the Save-a-Ho Project?

Just asking.

I'm also quite sure no one in here has ever said or done anything remotely as funny as me.

Haha! Comedy...can't get enough of it.

In all honesty, I think she is funny.
but the fact remains that she is a seriously racist individual, and its accepted.
The racist part doesnt bother me, but her being accepted and nothing being said does. If she were white, making similar black jokes, she would be forced to leave TV, go into rehab, pay restitution and most likely have to interview with Al Sharpton.

I've seen her with plenty of white people (on TV), and she definitely did not seem racist at all. Jay Leno, Ellen, and a show she was on with another white woman (lady from Seinfeld). She might have a strong opinion about Rush, because he's an absolute moron.

watch some more of her standup, then get back to me. Until then, it really makes very little sense in arguing with you on this.

What difference does it really makes if Fox hires her. That's what the remote is for.
Ill watch.
I think shes funny as hell.

see, I dont worry too much about racist comedy, My only complaint is when the tender skinned blacks get up in arms when a white person makes black jokes.

however, the original thought on this, regardless of what I think of her was that fox is only putting her on as a token to point at when they are called racist.
She will balance out Beck. they hope

I personally am a fan of her. I don't pay attention to her politics much but I'm wondering how much of a racist she is as her wife is white? She jokes about it in her HBO special about how they're baby will be white and she'll have to grab a white lady to claim her lost child (or something like that).. she may make white/black/any other racial comments but I believe it's for the sake of comedy.

Many other comedians make the jokes whether it be about their own race or another.. it's comedy. It's what most people find funny as it's usually not supposed to be taken to heart. my 2 cents.
