I just talked with Christie, ACO, Calvert, just a few minutes ago..and she is out in the area look ing for this dog. It does look like a boxer, but as LuvCats posted, it is a cane corso.
Anyone traveling Emmanual Church road/Stinnet road area, keep a sharp eye out for this dog, and call ACO if you see him.

A CC that looks like a Boxer? Was the dame smoking and drinking too much? :killingme

Bless the little booger and here's hoping she gets in from the rain. :huggy:

From a distance a very thin and young CC can look like a Boxer, especially a brindle CC.

I'm a cat person. >^.,.^< What I know about dogs you could fit in a thimble. I just hope we can catch the dog before it starts raining again.

Some tips...

I'm just looking around for advice on how to gain this dog's trust...

Get as low to the ground as possible (you must be below his eye level).

Sit quietly in the same spot until we arrive. Rumble may circle you, moving in and retreating, moving in again, etc. Just stay still.

Do not stare, smile, or make eye contact. That could be perceived as a dog-type snarl or predator stare.

Lost dogs are scared, confused, and very cautious. You must not chase or approach them or they will run further away. The lost dog must learn to trust and approach you, not vice versa. Patience is essential.

The breeder said he'd put up flyers on Stinnett and Wilson. That should help increase the number of calls re sighting the dog.

Does the owner live on the opposite side of 4. Reason I ask is we tried to help with a dog that ran across 4 and into the woods leading up to HHighschool. We weren't able to even come close but that was at least a couple weeks ago. I never even thought about the same dog when my husband told me he spotted the one on Cox. Geez poor baby. Is anyone going to set up an organized search for him...and yes one would of thought they would have posted fliers right away.

Also this was a while back but there were fliers up around Dunkirk about a lost dark brindle boxer but that was I think too long ago for it to be this dog. TImeframe was around the beginning of summer and I don't know if that pup was ever found.

This dog has been missing about a month and is not a boxer. I remember the lost posters for a Boxer...this is a different dog. Well, we aren't really sure about the dog but it would appear there's a boxer AND a cane missing.

Geez, well I am willing to go out and help look but the timeframe and locations add up to the one that ran across 4. From HH to Cox to Stinnett is a pretty straight shot.

I have the large trap that AC brought over yesterday. Caught a raccoon early this morning. Reset the trap but have not seen any sign of the dog. How would you go about organizing a search? I'd be willing to participate.

Here is the address and name of the breeder. The dog seems to be staying in the vicinity. The dog was not raised here in this area tho and is confused, does not have a sense of where home is.

This is a good start here on the forum. We live off Plum Point between Cox and Stinnett. My Hubby has taken off the week from work so we are both available anytime through the week. We can start by picking a time and day and I will call around for some volunteers to split up some shifts. Anyone available on the forums?? I will PM my cell number to any volunteers. We can start asap!! Luvscat are there any trails in the woods around your place since this was the last sighting? I use to ride trails with my horse around your area a few years back.

Ok I am familiar with this location I think, isn't it across from the pony express on Emmanuel? We can also ride the powerlines through there.

Yes, there are deer trails and there is a creek down the hill. What about us puttng up flyers in the area to publicize the lost dog? I could draft something but my printer is down.

I don't have a printer hooked up but will try to see if a friend can do it. We will need as much info as possible.
