Was there ever a Long John Silvers in La Plata

When I was a kid, we used to eat at Long Johns on some Friday nights. The chicken planks and hush puppies were so good. That is not so today. 
. I knew I shouldn't, but I tried eating a chicken plank from there a few years ago, and the experience was as bad as I had after my last trio to KFC

A number of years ago there was a proposal by the KFC to expand and make it into a joint KFC/Long John Silvers. If I remember the details correctly after all of these years, the owners of the shopping center at that time were unwilling to relinquish the parking lot space. (Don't remember if this was pre or post tornado.) Regardless, I believe the shopping center changed ownership and the new owners allowed a Starbucks to be built at the corner of 6 & 301.
