I am so very blessed
Purchase the largest capacity washer and dryer that you can. I hate doing laundry, and would much rather do one large load than three small ones.

I have to buy a new washer and dryer. Can anyone give me any tips as to preferred brands, size, etc.?
We bought (and got a good deal on) GE Commercial washer and dryer at P&W Appliances, after going through a set (other brands) just about every 2 years. These are holding up very well (still run like new after 2 years) and do an outstanding job. And they're very easy to operate.

I did a lot of research. Compared Sears, Whirpool Duet and Maytag Neptune. Sears won hands down.

They are great!

Kenmore or Whirlpool. Most Kenmore's were Whirlpool's but I don't know about recently.

You're all F'in Mad...
Bought new Maytag Neptune's last year. The Kenmore front loader's are nice, but you *must* buy the base to raise the units up to a practical working height. (Or load the washer/dryer from your knees.) The Neptune's on the other hand are high enough to be functional without the base, even though they offer that as an option as well.

Very efficient with respect to water use and electricity too. They replaced 12 year old Maytag units that never needed service or repair. Hopefully, 11 years from now, I imagine I'll be looking for new Maytag units to replace these.

Thanks!!! :huggy: I'm excited!!!

Do NOT buy GE..Just my personal opinion. When we built our house we did every appliance in GE and have had to replace every last appliance. Now most appliances we have are either Maytag or WhirlPool and they are great. In the washer/dryer department I would go with Maytag if it were my choice. I currently have Maytag and I love them; I have the large capacity and I can wash my King size comforters without a problem. Good Luck! :howdy:

Nu-uh. I didn't buy the base and I stand up and do my laundry. :neener: That was a selling "point" the salemen used. I asked what was the point of the drawers being under the washer/dryer--if you can't bend to get stuff out of the washer and dryer, you certainly don't want to bend further to get stuff out of the dang drawers. Mine are no lower than my old dryer.

This site was extremely helpful.
