Washing Machine Repair

My washer stopped working in the middle of a cycle and we can't figure out what's wrong.

Any recommendations for who to call to have it repaired?

Is the door latch engaging? Try pushing down on the door in the spot where it enters the machine to see if it kicks back on. Just a stupid fix I've had on one of my machines that I almost called someone over.

Unplug the washer for 45 seconds.
While it is unplugged, set the dial to off.
Plug it back in, and re-start the cycle from the start.

We did that, unfortunately it wasn't the problem.

I like the kicking or hitting method myself. I have come to call it the thump test! Works about 50 percent of the time.

Routine maintenance, check the cold water hose filter screen for junk. If it is plugged up, you may think the timer is malfunctioning.
