Having gone to a school that had a D1 team and done tutoring and working in the computer lab I can definitely say I bet there was more than one.
Now don't get me wrong there are some pretty intelligent football players, linemen were almost always good students, we had one in med school that I knew, he just also happened to be a good center and love playing.
Basketball players on the other hand were all idiots. There was a class referred to as basketball math. It was addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and you could use a calculator.
And the TAs had to turn the calculator on for them.
When we lived in Nebraska, local folklore was the TGIF on the Cornhuskers football shoes stood for Toes Go In First.
