Yesterday the commissioners were forced to face their problems in our neighborhood---driveways they aproned that weren't up to code, poor drainage systems they approved, flooded lots that should never have had approval to build....
Today the workers are here. They stopped in front of my house - 4 truck loads and examined the ditch. They walked around and talked on cell phones, they looked at my neighbors ditch which has 7 foot weeds in it. They make more calls.
Knock on the door. "Ma'am you are going to have to clear that ditch of weeds"
"My ditch is clear, that's the neighbor's ditch"
"No ma'am our records show its yours and you'll have to clear it or be fined."
I storm out and show them the property marker.
"Oh"
I go back in the house. They make more phone calls. All the trucks leave. They come back a half hour later. They make calls. They sit on the back of their trucks. Finally one goes to the neighbors. No one there. Three trucks leave. Fourth truck just sits.
I go out. "If you're waiting for them to come home its going to be a long wait. They get back around 6pm.
"We can't do anything without the owners knowing"
"Then don't wait for them, they are renters. The owner is XXXXX"
More phone calls. The truck leaves. All the trucks come back 15 minutes later.
More calling. More sitting. Nothing done yet.
This has been going on for 4 hours.
I'm not paying my taxes anymore.
