i did a search and couldn't find anything so please forgive me if this is a repeat:

I've been making a lot of jam lately andwould like to invest in a water bath canner. does anyone know of somewhere I can buy one. I've found some online but would like to avoid the $10-$20 shipping charges if possible.

thanks for any advice!

Go to Leonardtown TrueValue, or Walmart usually has them too. Actually most Hardware stores do, as well as many grocery stores.

You're talking about the large black enamel double boiler type pot, right?

You can get them at Tru Value and Walmart for sure. I got ours at Tru Value and just saw some at Walmart last week.

I think I got mine at Target but they have them at most hardware stores, as those before me have said.

I always used my crab pot until last year when I got a pressure cooker. It's awesome! You can stack the jars and it takes less than half as long as hot water bath canning. You have to follow the directions exactly though.
