But...but....but...I thought we were all gonna die if we went to the beach:twitch:. Seriously, two weeks ago, everyone was going to catch the covid, according to the so called "experts", cant go out, cant socialize, kids cant go to school. Now, with Memorial Day right around the corner...what the hell, lets open the beaches and hotels and restaurants. Pretty damn coincidental...dont you think?

Where are the "waterfront" parks and why do we have to pay a fee to enter a taxpayer supported facility?
The where is on the clip I posted and the full flyer is in the link. The second part is a GREAT question.

And what's to stop someone from anchoring just offshore, say at Myrtle Point, to walk the beach? Since, and of course, St. Mary's County does not retain any riparian water rights. The State of Maryland owns and controls any land under the navigable waters of the State below the mean high tide mark affected by the regular rise and fall of the tide, and retains those water/land rights. This means the County cannot stop anyone from anchoring their boat, canoe, whatever, on the water's edge and walk, or lay, upon a beach, as long as they stay below, or up, to the mean high tide water mark on that beach, or any other beach. Which, at the Myrtle Point beach, is about up to where the grass line starts.
“Under common law principles, title to the bed of navigable waters, defined as the land beneath the mean high tide mark of these waters, rests in the State for the benefit of its citizens."

Hoping this goes well, so far the state of MD has had a linear increase in COVID 19 cases, between 700-900 a day and that is holding pretty steady. It would be a great sign if by June 15 this holds.

On the summer weekends, Myrtle Point had an employee sitting under an umbrella on the beach collecting the $5 as you came ashore.
Unless the State Legislature has granted St. Mary's County to do so? The County has no standing in which to collect any money from someone coming ashore to sit by the water's edge on the beach, unless, a person was to go further than the Mean High Tide Water Mark, such as walking further into the park.

I bet you are loads of fun at parties!
I kinda like to think I am. However, when I hear wishy-washy, namby-pamby, woe is me, ignorant comments, from those I know regarding dictates from government ~ I do do my best, in an informative tone, to educate them. And, in such a way as to give them the individual assertiveness to stand up, and question, and force power hungry minions, to show any such authority.

Nope. You are a condescending ass-wipe who tends to bloviate much too much.
