I give my son the organic baby yogurt too. The dr. said it was ok to do as long as he doesn't seem to have any issues with it. It's also one of his favorites. Guess it can all depend on what dr. you use.

This might be a dumb question.....is the organic yogurt in with the baby food aisle?

I must admit, I was as picky as can be till I started to date my now husband. Think I didn't want him to think I was completely crazy about all the things I wouldn't eat.

As for the older ones, they use it as an excuse to get out of eating things their not in the mood for.
Hell I just ate it to shut my parents up, or to not have them yell at me!!!!

My parents were the "i'm not making 2 meals, you dont like it dont eat" kinda people, And i will be the same way when the time comes!

Here's a great trick from my mommy:

Fill a bowl up with their favorite kind of ice cream. They hate watching it melt. I ate all of my peas that way! Now, I love them. Thanks Mommy!

Wish it would work. She is a teen girl so all she would tell me is how much fat is in that bowl of ice cream. I usually tell them I could be mean and make liver for dinner. So far, that's been the only one to work.

she will be fine without cereal. I think my first ate MAYBE a box of it the whole time he was little and my second has never touched the stuff. He just gets fruit/veggies and breastmilk and he is fine! Besides there is soooo much extra Iron in the cereal it is nuts.

So, Ireland has been eating solids for a good 3 weeks or so now. From the start though- she has detested Cereal. I tried Rice first- and then tried Oatmeal. Neither is working. Her veggies, she loves. Fruits are still up in the air- except for banana's.

I read a article recently- about babies who are eating solids need to get the good carbs from the cereal and such- and to make sure to incorperate this into the mix. Well, my question is, how can I do this? I have been trying EVERYDAY since the start- even mixing in the banana's and other other fruit (peaches, pears, and applesauce.. which she somewhat turns a sour face to those)...and she just isnt having it. Again, she will gobble down her veggies- especially sweet pots and carrots. Still, even mixing those in.. she wont. But, alas, no cereal. Any ideas?

Really can't blame her for not wanting to eat it. Have you ever tried a bit of it? IT'S GROSS!!!!

My son had reflux so we had to add cereal to his bottles. I never had to try and spoon feed it since he was getting it that way.

Try it out and see if that works. If not don't stress over it. I'm sure she is getting all that she needs from her milk and baby foods.

WC, how are preparing the cereal now?

Sometimes I mix it with her formula in a bowl or sometimes with water. I have just started trying the water- thinking that maybe the fruit mixed with formula wouldn't taste good.

LOL! Well, I am not gonna make her eat it. I dont force it anyway. I try and give up after 2-4 spoons. LOL!
That may be the problem. If it's thick enough to use a spoon it may be a texture issue more than a flavor issue.

Thy putting a tablespoon of cereal in about 4 oz of formula, or whatever your using, and feed it to her in the bottle.

They also make bottles especially for this method, so you can feed baby a thicker version without using a spoon, which could be another issue.
