Weed Identification

Give Peas a Chance
I'm trying to figure out what this thorny weed is (I want to say it's some sort of thistle) because it's slowly taking over my yard. I tried a weed killer I spray over the entire yard, but it didn't touch them. I'm to the point of doubling the strength of the weed killer even if it cost me some grass because these things are killer on bare feet.

They call me ... Sarcasmo
The pic on left is crabgrass, spray some "Dimension" ASAP. Refer to the "Mortal Enemy" thread in Home and Garden, there is a lot of good advice in there.

I guess the left one is a little hard to see, but it's the same plant as the one on the right. They are not dandelions. These have small thorns along the edge of the leaves that hurt real bad when you step on them.

I just found a couple of those in my yard for the first time last weekend.

Ok some kind of thistle, so how do I get rid of it? I tried Otho Weed B Gon Max at a ratio of 2fl oz per gallon of water and it didn't touch them. I'm to the point where I'm going to triple the strength and grass be damn.

How many plants are there? Thistle is tough to get rid of. The best way is to dig up the plants and dispose of them.

Round Up or Ground Clear. Hit them directly and individually, don't spray the whole yard obviously. Yes, it's a PITA and tedious, but it will get rid of them.

Ground Clear will prevent anything from growing for a whole year.

I'll try the round up or ground clear. There is probably 20 plants around the yard and the invasion is slowly growing. I'm not a yard freak and let the dandelions and such grow, but these things hurt.
