For your consideration ...
This sht wears me out.
Democracy is a form of government in which state power is vested in the people or the general population of a state, many times through representatives.
Republic is also a form of government where power resides in the people, who exercise it through elected representatives.
Republic vs. Democracy:
While often used interchangeably, a republic is a specific form of government where power is derived from the people, while democracy is a broader concept encompassing various forms of government where the people have a say.
All of that came from AI and I just copy/pasted.
And from MW:
A case can be made for either

People who want to quibble, "We're a REPUBLIC, not a DEMOCRACY!!" sound ignorant AF.
JHFC, you need to go back to school or something. You want a democracy? Then head on over to the UK or the EU. A Republican form of government is a government of the people by the people and for the people, where representatives are democratically elected by the people. Those elected conduct the business of government while protecting and defending the rights of the people. Also, ever heard of the Bill of Rights? Yeah, those in the UK and the EU salivate over our God given and protected rights.
Unlike in a democracy, such as in the UK and the EU, where just hurting someone's feelings by way of a mean post on social media or poignant meme, or simply praying as a Christian in public, will get one arrested and sentenced to jail. This, your website, your forums, would be shutdown in a second. They have no 1st Amendment protections there. But, that's a democracy for ya.
Ya know, if there were really such a minor difference in the two as you and a human programmed artificial intelligence say, why is the word democracy nowhere to be found in the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence? In fact, the founders of this Nation wanted nothing to do with a democracy, since that is in part what we fought the revolutionary war to end. In addition, if they are so similar to each other, why did they go so far to write, and specifically state in the Constitution under Article IV Section 4 that:
"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government"?
You clearly have not experienced any thing personally detrimental by way of government action in your life that would give you the stones to combat such BS rhetoric like that you are spewing.
Go ahead and ask any actual US combat veteran why they joined and fought? It sure wasn't for a fuking democracy. In fact, the first rule of the Code of Conduct for every service member is:
"I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense." Well, it changed to drop the 'man' part in 1988 due to fweelings getting hurt. And the last part of the Code of Conduct in number 5:
"I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America." Do you think for a second that men would be willing to die for a democracy? Fuk no. No way in hell. Men in this Nation fight to protect the freedoms and rights that so many have died to guarantee us. Rights and freedoms, that unfortunately, (such as yourself it appears), so many take for granted. Having never experienced anything close to what is necessary to keep them.
You can think what you want but our government is in fact controlled by deep state operatives that we've never heard of.
My God! Don't you sound like a conspiracy theorist. You are becoming a nut job. Prove to us that there are deep state operatives controlling our government. Name those that control our Nation's central bank. Those that control the financial institutions. Those that control the media, education, and so forth. We'll wait for your reply.
