welding stainless steel

I have a stainless steel pot I love......... Well the handle came off about a year ago. I have had no luck in finding someone to reattach it for me.

It shouldn't take more then 5 min. and I don't care what it looks like so it doesn't need to be perfect. I just want to be able to use it!!!

Anyone know of someone who could do this for me? Of course I am willing to pay for it....

Just about any auto repair place should be able to do it if they are more than a "parts switching" type of repair place. Muffler shops can do it too since most exhaust systems are stainless nowadays.

Suz.. I'm pretty sure that the handle was held on by a screw. Look at the size go to Tru Value, buy a screw and a screw driver. Should be able to do it yourself.

Why don't you just buy a new pot? Seems like an awful lot of work to go through for a pot.
Because I love it and have not seen another one like it! It's a pasta pot with a lock on lid. But heavy not anything like the chintzy ones you see on 'special' on tv (that you can only get on TV THIS WEEK-next week their everywhere and a lot cheaper then TV)

jb weld--hadn't thought of that either.......

If your not concerned with what it looks like, you can have the handle welded on with regular steel wire. Stainless steel is an alloy which contains, you guessed it, steel. I have the setup to weld steel, SS, and aluminum, but it's in storage at a buddy's house right now. I really wouldn't trust a pot full of scalding water to J-B weld. If you aren't in a hurry to get it back, I may be able to get to the welder this weekend, or I could braze it for you with brass. Please reconsider the J-B solution.:howdy:
