Would THIS face lie?
For some time, there has been a company running an underground cable all around here (Clements Area). They just ran it to the schools. Big ole black cable and they put junction boxes in every so often. There are also some white pipes with orange caps on them following the cable. Came back to Dynard School and then ran down to the old Bethune School. That is as far as it goes. Wonder what that is and why just to the schools and who paid for it all. They probably spent a couple months in this area. I also have seen the white pipes with orange caps up on Rt 5 in the Mechanicsville area. Anyone know what this is?

In My Opinion
I have been on FIOS now for about 5 years, in all the storms I have only lost service once in that time, and it was because a tree fell in my yard and broke the fiber in half. I called the day after it happened, they were out fixing it the next day.
Verizon is considered a public utility and they have to follow certain guidelines when it comes to restoring service.
the other providers are not public utilities and can let you go without service for as long as they want.

It is FIOS. Verizon is putting it in the Park only right now. Should be a couple years befote complete though

Well, not in St Mary's County according the latest version (June 2012) Construction List....July is not there yet....:whistle:

Finally found it. Was so few it blended in with the rest. But its good to see. I just wonder when it will be available to order. Has anybody actually ordered or pre-ordered it?

According to my buddy he said it still says dsl only right now... that will change probably in a month or so...

I did see the verizon trucks by outback but I cant get confirmation that it was for verizon fiber (fios)....

It looks like they ran it down my road to Hollywood Elementary. But I think they were just hooking up the school, because it ends there.

Like the installation of power lines in the late 1920s and the paving of roads in the early 1930s, a new infrastructure is being prepared now in St. Mary’s County.

BG has a family movie of her and her sisters watching them pave the roads back then..
