Do you really think so? Americans appear to have an enormous appetite for tyranny and fascism. We should be rioting in the streets about the incarceration of everyone who was even near DC on J6, and yet we're not. We should be tearing down every federal building over the draconian sentence of the Proud Boys, but we're not. We should be putting their heads on a pike for all these ridiculous charges they're bringing against Trump, but we're not.

They are literally jailing their political opponents like some third world shithole, and Americans are allowing it.

Hell, Democrats riot in the streets and burn down whole cities when a butterfly flaps its wings in South America. What will it take for Republicans and independents to step up?
I'm outspoken at the local level. By that I mean in regards to what our HOA is doing. I have recently contacted my state senator regarding a problem with banks holding onto vacated property for years and not paying the fees. Admittedly I'm not one to start a riot or participate in one because I value my life. Vrai, you are always confident in your convictions and most of the time I'm in complete agreement with you. You speak frequently about what we should be doing collectively to stop the tyranny. May I ask what you have been doing to stop the tyranny. Because written communication comes without body language, I feel compelled to say that this is not said in a mean-spirited way. I'm genuinely interested in knowing what your plans or actions are in this matter.

Because they are constantly losing to social media and the press who label them TERRORISTS if they so much as speak their mind at a school board meeting. The strata of people controlling the media demonize every damned thing the right does - defending stores, speaking up at meetings and so forth - while LIONIZING actual criminals, because it suits them.

The war isn't in the streets - it's already won in the press and in our institutions of higher learning. I have no idea how to rectify that.

And it's not just Trump.

Like the defund the police movement, these folks do not see the chaos they breed - UNTIL IT BITES THEM IN THE ASS. How long did the major cities think it would take before the waves and waves of illegals decided that the biggest cities were their best chance for surviving - how long before their open arm policy and habit of just giving stuff away would attract them by the hundreds of thousands? You can "blame" the GOP governors, but you can hardly blame them for offering goodies and expecting they won't show up on their own. To boast about the immigrant makeup of your cities and not expect them to decide, THAT is where we will go.

But I digress -

We have an entire portion of the population who are determinedly myopic when they see the objects of their scorn drawn into court DURING AN ELECTION season. They want Trump stricken from the ballots - so that he cannot be voted for. They decry him for election interference and bemoan the GOP for disenfranchisement - but at their first opportunity they openly embrace it. What is wrong with letting the PEOPLE DECIDE who they want? Why can't they get it through their heads that the people have the right to decide, even if you don't like it?

Jailing your opponents for the purpose of thwarting an election IS ELECTION INTERFERENCE. At least with the J6 stuff and Trump's drawing attention to it - it didn't overturn elections. This is intended to do just that.

Does anyone believe they will STILL PURSUE TRUMP should he decide to not run?

I’ve been asking for 3 years now when will we stand up as one and fight back. I’ve been convinced we don’t have the willpower to fight. As myself and others have said - we have been shown what will happen to us for pushing back and most of us are not willing to take the punishment. Vrai has said many times they can’t jail us all. Well by damn they have done a pretty good job with jailing and/or punishing everyone that went into the capitol on J6. If you had told me at the end of the day on J6 that everyone who entered would be identified and punished, I would have called you a liar. Now all bets are off the table moving forward with any riots or protests initiated by conservatives or people that love America.

Refer back to what Lincoln did to many prominent Maryland politicians and other power figures (wealthy land owners with slaves, mostly..MD being a slave state with more than half of it solidly in support of the south). He preemptively jailed them all, arbitrarily and without charges. When faced with resistance "you cannot suspend habeas corpus! ..that's a violation of the Constitution!" he simply shrugged it off and and said "yeah..so what..I did it". So yeah..there is certainly historical precedent for "jailing us all".

The country is rotting from the inside out and will eventually fail, disintegrate etc. History has recorded no other outcome. Ever.

Like, ever.

We need a strong leader that we can get behind and support and I can tell you right now that leader will not be an establishment Republican. And just like before and during the Revolutionary War there will be at least 2/3 of the country that is comfortable living under tyranny and will fight against liberation.

Humans are *******s.

My plan is to protect myself as best I can and everyone else is on their own, because:

The war isn't in the streets - it's already won in the press and in our institutions of higher learning. I have no idea how to rectify that.

That right there ^^

And also because:

Admittedly I'm not one to start a riot or participate in one because I value my life.

There's nothing I alone can do about it, and I'm damn sure not going to lead a charge because I know I'll look behind me and there will be nobody there.

Well, silly, it's because allowing people to vote for someone they themselves don't like is a threat to democracy. Quite a number of them have said so openly.

Yet few of thse 2/3s left the country after the war. They became comfortable (and in many cases rich) living under a republic that they did nothing to establish. The birth of liberalism in this country.

Funny, two of my ancestors were Loyalists that emigrated from Long Island and SC after the war to Nova Scotia.

Derek Chauvin---maybe not the best police officer in the world, but certainly no murderer.
Placed in jail for over 20 years because he happened to be holding George Floyd down when he overdosed on Fentanyl.
Jailed to keep blacks from rioting.

How about the people in DC jail with no bail, no trial there for 21/2 years ? Habeas Corpus.? Hardly Just as illegal as Lincoln did to maryland citizens.
If the Governor can call it an emergency their power is without limit. They can call martial law, ban guns, make you wear a freaking useless mask order your kids to get the death shot or they can't go to school. Fire health care nurses for not getting the death shot. The FBI can kill just about anyone in their just before dawn death raids and no one faces trial for it. Democrat Attorney generals can twist the law like a pretzel, indict a former President, his lawyers, his friends, while the sitting President can accept bribes in the Millions of dollars and be congratulated for it.
