Mac's are strictly good for the use of graphic design/ animation...
Your everyday use of email, office, surfing you would make a serious mistake in purchasing a mac.
fedex, I use my Mac for day to day operations and I also use it to record live music. It took me about a month in the transition from PC to Mac (learning short cuts).
Here’s my little story on why I am Apple user instead of Windows user.
When I was looking to buy a new laptop I was able to get 35-45% off a Dell, this was with the previous company I worked for. This was also right before release of Vista. I bought it, opened it up installed all my needed drivers to record. I went off to a show, I was using the laptop to play music in-between sets and I was also doing a 4 track recording. The laptop crashed 4 times, 10 minutes into recording the computer would freeze, 40 mins later it was still frozen. I called spoke to Dell, returned the laptop on Monday, and then I went off to the Apple store in Annapolis.
I spent $1700 (retail was around $3k) on a Dell that could only play music and surf the internet… The MacBook Pro I have now, I can record 10 audio tracks and save them. I spent $2500 and it was well worth it to me. I haven’t tried any more tracks because I don’t have a recording device that record mores than 10 tracks.
