What areas still don't have High Speed Internet?

I'm curious from a business standpoint. Many days I stand in Southern Dorchester County and look across the bay at our not-so-distant neighbors.

Is most of Southern Maryland covered with Cable and DSL options or is much still without High Speed?

Lots of wide open spaces down here without any service whatever. Cable is more prevalent, but doesn't get to alot of places. DSL is very limited. Some have resorted to cellular modems, but even that doesn't work in a lot of places. No one wants to foot the bill to run service to the outlying areas.

And since I don't have (don't desire) local cable, and turned off my satellite service, the only TV I get is via the airwaves from my not-so-distant neighbor DelMarVa.

We live near Loveville- no cable TV or internet. We've got Direct TV which is great, but hate, hate, hate the Hughesnet cable we are stuck with. It's expensive, and we get such limited bandwidth that we have to go to public places to do much of our computing.

Cell is cheaper and faster than hughesnet IF you have cell service at your house. It's what we use as most of Dameron doesn't have cable or broadband of any kind (other than cell)

I know the southern part of charles county doesn't have anything. I now live on a wooded mountain in the middle of nowhere in WV and even I can get DSL.

Does anyone know of some development names/locations in Charles I could visit that can see across the Bay and don't have broadband? I'd like to come over this week or next and do some testing for signal...
