It's not that difficult is it? When I worked at Lowes, years back, I had sold a 32" Sony TV to a lady, and had put it on a rolling cart to help her get it into her vehicle.

Turned out she was driving a Honda Civic! As I was thinking what I was going to say next, a fellow came up to her car, saw the two of us and the situation and offered to deliver the TV to her home with his pick up truck.

He saved the day for both of us! I thanked him wholeheartedly!

Very Cool!

Nice!!! :buddies:

What parts place?

AutoZone, next to Sheets on Rte 235! We try to go the "extra mile" for our customers. Some parts stores do not seem to get that fact: "We are here to help you!"

Well, what is it, that you're in that business for then?? Help the customer - ya dummy!

I actually want to give niceness kudos to FancyBelle. She never misses a night of crocheting with the seniors, even when she doesn't feel well. She coordinates with everyone and goes out of her way to remind and invite everybody to show up. She's a fabulous teacher, as many of the ladies are now crocheting like superstars, and have begun making caps/hats for cancer patients and St. Judes. Though it may not seem like anything, the senior ladies absolutely love and enjoy having their crocheting night, and the best part is FancyBelle.

Unspoken acts of kindness...isn't that what it's all about? :yay:

Crocheting is a dying art - I would like to learn!

But on another note - my act of kindness yesterday was as follows:
I was in the checkout line yesterday evening at 9:30 with this hyperactive 4 year old kid behind me. Dressed in her PJs ready for bed, she was begging her father for a candy bar but he was holding strong against it. As I was checking out, I reached down and got a pack of "Fun Dip", paid for it, and handed it to the child as I walked out! Talk about stink eye - not from the youngster of course! I felt so good inside.

Almost everyday folks come into my shop and purchase auto parts, some of them can be fairly heavy like rotors and calipers, etc. I make it a point to help these customers by bringing out a rolling cart, load all of these parts onto it and ask them if I can help by taking everything out to their vehicle all at once. Why should a customer have to make two or three trips, back and forth if I can make it in one shot for them?

I was in there Tuesday. I bought a set of front rotors for a SUV. You weren't there, but there was a younger looking black man working. He did offer to carry them out for me. I did it myself, but I do appreciate his offer. Tell him I said thank you again! And yes, those suckers are a tad heavy. I think it's nice ya'll offer.

Nice! I personnally am weary of giving kids anything to eat because they may have allergies or medical condition which would restrict what they can or cannot eat. Also if she seemed hyperactive, hopefully "Fun Dip" doesn't contain sugar! :buddies:

I know who you have spoken of, and I will relay to him your appreciation for his kindness to you. He is a great individual, just turned 20 yrs old and has many qualities(professionalism/self-motivated/respectful) that you don't often witness in some of the younger folks. :yay:

In My Opinion
what did I do that was nice?

I gave a free shower to a group of people standing at a bus stop this morning.
big puddle in front, and could not get over to avoid it.

Many of them showed their appreciation by pointing out that I was, in their mind, number 1.

I felt the love.

Today, I didn't kick the shopping cart of the lady who was all up in my personal space following us around in Walgreens. Pix was more p.o.'ed about her than I was.

These are great stories. I want to share the best "feel good" story I can think of and it's something my sis & her gf did for someone in need.

They were grocery shopping w/a friend and a guy their friend knows ran into her and was chatting. He broke down crying and apparently he'd lost his job, was having trouble paying the bills for him and his Mom who lives w/him, and he was in the store trying to find something to buy for dinner with the $7 he had on him. They got another cart, filled it w/food and bought it for him and his Mom. Then their friend gave them a ride home. I was really proud of them for being so selfless. We could all be more like that!
