What did you do that was NICE?

I tried returning an item today without a receipt that was about 3 months old. I was very nice to the sales person - I made a comment about the roses on her desk. She gave me a store credit! Niceness does get you far....or at least store credit...but I would not treat a retail associate any other way!

Twice this year seperate coworkers have been out of work due to medical reasons. I bought getwell cards for each and circulated them around the office for all to sign and took them to the post office to mail. I wanted them to know they were in our thoughts.

Don't call me nice! My Bad Reputation at stake! :nono:

Ok then I will call you SWEET! :smoochy:

I was on my way to work and saw something in the road and a robin sitting on the side of the road gettting blown around. I turned around and it was the robins partner dead in the middle of the road and the other had a broken wing. I picked him/her up and dropped it off at the vet (didn't have time to go back home). They said it should be fine after a week or two to fly again.

I have a bad habit of helping animals in/on the road... some cost me a lot of money!

Blessings on you, Savior of Robins!

OK I wanted to paint the kitchen for the wife since such great food comes out of it. I went to Lowes today for paint and supplies and some Girl Scouts were outside selling cookies, I asked one of the girls if the price was the same for every box, she said yes. What an absolute sweetheart with a great smile and very respectful.

I told her I'll buy six boxes but I wanted her to do me a favor. I told her I want you to pick six random people and let them pick whatever kind they wanted and give them a box for free. The smile I got was priceless as well as the thank you I got in STEREO from all the girls selling...

OK, back to painting...:howdy:

why not for the girl scouts? They sold 6 boxes and got to feel good about spreading some happiness to people of their choosing? They got their $ and learned about "passing it on".

Silly, I raised a beer mug in response to chernmax's post. Girl Scouts should not be offered a beer! Way too young! :lmao:

People Suck

I entered the check out line and was 4th in line at my local Weiss yesterday, the first thing i noticed was the 3 people in front of me, tapping fingers and giving nasty looks. As i looked forward there was an elderly lady at the head of the line fumbleing through her purse. looking at the counter i noticed a pound of ground beef, hotdogs, milk, some bagged veggies and 6 cans of cat food. They lady in front of me said "this has been going on for 5 minutes, think she's looking for a coupon so she has enough money for the cat food, she's short on money".

Without hesitation i left the line walked around to the front of the counter, put my hand basket down and asked the clerk "how much her bill was", she said $18.63. i handed the clerk a $20.00, put the ladies stuff in a bag and walked her out to her car where her handicapped husband was waiting.

There were some words exchanged and i also handed the confussed husband a $20.00 and told him his wife was the 10,000th customer and got free groceries.

I hate [most] people.

:killingme Even on a thread Penn's checkin ID's!!! NICE!!! :buddies:

It's not nearly in the same venue but when people come up to the check out line where I work, a lot of times the amount they need to pay has odd change tacked onto the dollar amount. If they don't have change with them it's easy to offer the odd cents that I usually carry in my pocket. 37 cents? No problem! Half a buck? I got you covered.

It makes it easier on the customer to come in and get what they need and go on about their work.

We find change that has been dropped on the floor everyday. Why not help a guy or a lady out?

We had a woman approach us in the Wal Mart parking lot..

Said "Hi. How are you doing?" and she replied.. "OH, not well, I'm trying to get to Fairfax, VA my daughter is in the hospital there.. "

To which we replied "GOOD LUCK" and went on our way.

We didn't call the cops on her, was that nice!?

Perfect response! I sure wish everyone reacted the same in those circumstances! This would be a better world if they did.

Today I had a young guy who came into the store, who had just got a "Check Engine" light appear on his dashboard. I used the main computer library to decipher what his ECM was finding fault with his vehicle.
He was able to fix his problems without too much effort, an EGR valve malfunction.

I sold him a new one, and he came back in a few hours and told me "You are da man!" "Problem solved"!

I told him: "We are here for you!"

He gave me a handshake and a "thumbs up". Not a bad day at work today........
