I have the Nikon CoolPix, and I like everything about it EXCEPT that it takes forever to snap a shot. Seriously, you press the button and it's literally two seconds before the flash goes off and the shot is taken--and by that time the subject has changed positions or moved out of the frame altogether. This is an issue I've had with a lot of digital cameras, though.
For me, The Nikon D90. I think low noise at very high ISO is the biggest thing on this camera.
One or two things you might be able to try on your camera to help that.
First try to hold your shutter button half way down and let the camera focus then push it the rest of the way down to snap your pictures. This will let you get good focus and camera may react faster.
Second thing to try is look in you manual for a continuous shoot mode, this shoots much faster.
That's why I recently got rid of mine and bought the Sony Cybershot. I got the $179 model for $129 Black Friday. It has a feature that automatically snaps a shot when the subject smiles. I think it's pretty cool! I've been wanting this camera for several months and I'm glad I held off buying it because I scored it at a great deal.I have the Nikon CoolPix, and I like everything about it EXCEPT that it takes forever to snap a shot. Also use high speed cards. Older, cheaper memory cards can be VERY slow to record and recover.QUOTE]
THis would not slow it down in snapping the picture it would just slow down how long until its ready for the next picture.
But that can be a pain as well!
