What do you think?

I've been at my job 28 years and have never taken unscheduled sick leave without a doctor's note and when I found out I don't get any special prizes, I took a (gasp) undocumented sick day.

I think the runt should get a piece of paper saying congratulations for perfect attendance and the only reason many of you don't agree is because your attendance sucks. Kicks rocks :tantrum: nobody appreciates dedication anymore. :bawl:

But seriously, I did! :ohwell:

Funny story - (to me, anyway) when I was in SIXTH GRADE, we took a test to place us in spelling "groups" according to our ability. It was a long test - probably 100 words. I missed ONE WORD. ONE. I have never forgotten that word. "Manager". I speeled it "manger". OMG, I KNEW that word! I don't know what I did, whether I rushed and just forgot the "a" or what happened now. :cds: I have never, ever made that mistake since.

I was still in the highest group, but I always remembered I got that one wrong.

I hear ya! My son had perfect attendance for the first time last year since moving to Florida 6 years ago and it just so happened to be his freshman year in high school. When I called the school to inquire about it, I was told they don't acknowledge perfect attendance at the high school level. What!? !! We rewarded him at home but it's not the same thing as being recognized from your school. Craziness!

I have to share this. I read this thread when it was posted and had read the responses. I haven't been around much and haven't had the time to post much

I was thinking about my kid who really felt these awards were so important. It got to the point that he cried when he had to be late for school for an appointment thinking that he would no longer get perfect attendance. I don't know where that fear originated. Perhaps it was the reward.

Out of the blue in the car tonight he proclaimed that he no longer cared about the reward and he thought it wasn't fair because people get sick and it isn't their fault. He also said that he thought the award was a bribe.

Your story about your son is interesting, but I don't see how it correlates to this thread.

I thought you knew I wasn't a member of another forum. I have said this is my one and only forever since I have been here. Keep up much?

I did. I was waiting for you to say this was your first and only forum before you came out of the closet.

Lying is not a good thing. I have posted from day 1 that this is my one and only forum, and it still is. Who has time for that? Your turn.
