Gwen Stefani irks me. I've never liked her, but at least when she was with No Doubt, I respected her craft. I don't know who talked her into acting like a teeny-boppin' pop star, but it's not working. It's like she's trying to be another Britney/Christina, but somebody forgot to remind her that she's too damn old and has zero rythym. She is a sell-out. :yay:

I'll take the money they're using to buy her :jet:

1. holla back girl
A girl that is willing to be treated like a doormat or booty call. She is a girl that will allow guys to do whatever they want with her and will just wait for them to 'holla back' at them.
Jermaine fools around with Aisha. Thinking he likes her, she waits around for him to make contact with her again.

So you're a hollaback girl?

Are you kidding?

I've liked Gwen Stefani for the past 10 years, and I don't think she's about selling out -- I think she's just having fun trying different kinds of music. Each album, she sounds different -- there were a few albums before Tragic Kingdom that sounded more ska than "just a girl" or "don't speak" and by the time "hey baby" and "hella good" came out, her sound changed dramatically. So don't knock Gwen for her music, and at least she's telling all the girls that she's *not* a hollaback girl instead of having a bunch of guys in her music video and dancing in a string bikini. Mariah Carey on the other hand, I don't know what her deal is....

Yes, I was, in fact, kidding.

:huggy: glad to hear it
I didn't realize there would be so many Gwen Stefani haters out there, since her music is near the top of the charts. I mean, she's not my favorite, but her music is kind of catchy sometimes. I didn't like her new song when it first came up, but now it's kind of burrowed itself into my head. Is that brainwashing?

I dunno, I've just always liked her music....right now, I listen to pretty much whatever is on 99.5 or top 20 -- the first time I heard the song was actually in one of my classes! We were doing group presentations that were related to mass media, and this one group performed a fashion show and one of the songs was "Hollaback Girl" so I made my boyfriend download it that night. He hates the song, but oh well.

Ohh I can't stand listening to the radio in the morning. When I'm still waking up, I have to listen to music, not talk show hosts who laugh every 2 seconds about stuff that's really not funny. My commute is only 2 minutes, so I just popped in a Gavin DeGraw cd.

"Hollaback Girl"

Uh huh, this is my sh*t
All the girls stomp your feet like this

A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna to happen like that
Because I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl

Ooooh ooh, this my sh*t, this my sh*t [x4]

I heard that you were talking sh*t
And you didn't think that I would hear it
People hear you talking like that, getting everybody fired up
So I'm ready to attack, gonna lead the pack
Gonna get a touchdown, gonna take you out
That's right, put your pom-poms downs, getting everybody fired up

A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna to happen like that
Because I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl

Ooooh ooh, this my sh*t, this my sh*t [x4]

So that's right dude, meet me at the bleachers
No principals,no student-teachers
Both of us want to be the winner, but there can only be one
So I'm gonna fight, gonna give it my all
Gonna make you fall, gonna sock it to you
That's right I'm the last one standing, another one bites the dust

A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna to happen like that
Because I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl

Ooooh ooh, this my sh*t, this my sh*t [x4]

Let me hear you say this sh*t is bananas
B-A-N-A-N-A-S
(This sh*t is bananas)
(B-A-N-A-N-A-S)

Again
This sh*t is bananas
B-A-N-A-N-A-S
(This sh*t is bananas)
(B-A-N-A-N-A-S)

A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna to happen like that
Because I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl

Ooooh ooh, this my sh*t, this my sh*t [x4]
